Same here iOS version from yesterday when started the second leg for me.

I play everyday and the first midnight leg didnt activate for me until there was 9 hrs left

Well, its weekend, they don't work on weekends, nor they take the game serious so they work or maintain it outside the weekly schedule, so... expect them to post a casual tweet or facebook post about how they are sorry and working on resolving the issue ... yawn
