Hi Everyone,
Greetings
First I would like to thank RedLynx for giving us the chance to participate in the beta for their upcoming Trials game - Trials Rising.
The only reason I'm writing this is because I love this series so much. Since the day I saw it in the Summer of Arcade games in Xbox 360 back in 2009 (Trials HD) with that 1,200 Microsoft point price, it got my attention and I did a lot of search about it. Then I decided to buy it and from there I became a fan of this amazing game.
My love and memories to this series are endless, from sending emails to Mr. Tero Virtala (Ex CEO Redlynx), to getting the original marathon achievement in Trials HD and on and on.
But lets get to it, Below are my notes that I wrote while playing the beta (Xbox one) and I apologize in advance for my bad English. I'm trying my best to send my feedback clearly.
Things I LIKED about the beta:
+ Leaderboards scores has a new option that shows the date and time for the shown score and replay.
+ Cross platform Leaderboards!
+ Main menu soundtracks are better than Fusion but still needs some improvements and variety.
+ Menus are all in one screen, unlike Fusion where you have to keep going to the right of the screen to view everything.
+ Lots of customization options and possibilities.
+ The ability to sell unneeded or duplicate customization.
+ No more FMX.
+ No more horses or gimmicky ideas.
+ No Quad / Rabbit / Donkey bikes and I hope the final game won't have them. (*I believe these ideas/bikes should be used in skill games only)
+ The news tab in the bottom of the main menu where it shows if someone beat your scores etc. Would like if you
guys add other things such as showing when someone uploaded a new track or opened a multiplayer lobby etc.
+ The fact that your scores / medals in the multiplayer matches counts and get saved in your singe player progress!
that's a huge plus, I was thinking about this feature since Trials Evolution.
Things I DISLIKED about the beta:
- Loot boxes, one of the worst ideas to have in a Trials game RedLynx, I'm really surprised that you guys went with this at a time where the industry is finally moving against it. it made a lot of controversy recently with a number of games and many development studios got rid of it after launching their games.
Suddenly you decide to implement the worst feature ever in this generation of video games and put it in a Trials game?!! bad move and should be taken down fully without hesitation.
* NOTE: Even the music and animations of the loot boxes opening are not interesting nor encouraging to get more boxes.
- The physics are a huge downgrade compared to Fusion, this made me shocked and sad to see my beloved game going backward, I really can't imagine myself not buying the new trials game because of this, the mantis bike isn't even close to the Viper.
I did a lot of testing just like how many players did in the community, its quite clear how the mantis is missing a lot of the ninja techniques due to the different physics.
For me the physics are the fundamental thing in a Trials game, without good physics, there will be no Trials. I'm talking here about the physics despite being a ninja or a speed-runner, the physics are just Not as good as Fusion.
- The loading is long, its unacceptable for a game like Trials using these powerful consoles (and in 2018!) to have this kind of loading.
- Main menu is on one screen but still a bit confusing, should be simple and clear. I found the same option in more than 1 page (repetitive). This will be really confusing for new players.
- The WATCH REPLAY option in the leaderboards is hidden! and even after finding it you need more than one input to view a replay?
why is that when you can just press (Y) from the leaderboards screen and view it right away specially that the (Y) button is not used in this screen.
- Slow motion option is not available in the replay, I really can't understand the reason behind removing good & simple features as this.
- Some menus are not that clear such as the number of players in the monster smash tournament, also the way you view the medals, should be better and bigger. Even the fonts are small in some menus such as the leaderboards.
- Contracts is a real confusing name for challenges, it should be changed to just "Challenges".
- When I finish a track, the game doesn't show my time right away after crossing the finish line, I'm forced to wait for the next "Victory" screen only to see my time!
- I know this is a side thing but the idea of having the 3 rivals to get a special loot box is so bad, this unlimited rivals/contracts system is really boring and repetitive.
Single player in Trials should be about collecting medals, challenges, getting 100% and that's it. No unlimited challenges.
I know you guys wanna implement a new social system in the game where it pushes the single player experience further and makes
it more of a challenge between friends and players online which is clear by the new idea of the loading screens and seeing each other's character + ghosts in tracks.
This will be good for leaderboards competition, that's completely fine as long as the single played doesn't get ruined by the unlimited things that keep asking you to finish this and that to get worthless random boxes.
The idea of having a new contract/challenge on tracks I played many times before is bad, repetitive and unnecessary.
- Moving between menus is a bit slow.
- The world map system is horrendous, and I can't imagine how the new players gonna get used to it, I'm sure many will get lost.
you can't tell easily which track you should play next, doesn't tell you whats new, whats important, what to play etc.
- The icons in the world map are so confusing, sometimes you see a medal, sometimes a face of someone (contracts), then that someone changes to another person (sponsors), what is happening ?!
should be a (!) icon which means a new challenge here and that's it, finish the challenge and no more going back to this track.
Better to get rid of this sponsors/contracts system fully.
- When I do a zoom out in the world map, the icons gets so small, should be bigger.
- Whats the point to have ghosts and riders in the middle of the challenges where I can do these challenges without caring about the track time?
Again, the challenges are really bad and repetitive.
- Having lots of medals is not a good idea, should be same as before (Bronze / Silver / Gold / Platinum).
- Infinite challenges / contracts in the single player mode.
- The flags & letters in the customization can be used in a bad way by players, I saw players disrespecting countries and religions, this will give a chance for racist people to spread their racism in the game.
Things I WISH to be added in Trials rising:
+ The Viper bike should be back RedLynx, I can't imagine a new Trials game without that amazing, smooth and satisfying physics of the Viper bike.
I believe this bike can't be topped, we only need this bike copied again in rising with some fixes for the fender hook and the tire glitches etc. And that's it, seriously that's it! Trials series will be saved!
+ The ability to choose more than one track from the Track central (checking list) and then download them all at once.
Example: when I play Trials daily, I check the TC for new tracks, and I download each new track 1 by 1 to prepare them in the Favorites list to be played, but its a long process. So if there is an option to check tracks (like 25 or 50 max) and then press one button and wait for them to download all at once, that would be great!
+ Ninja tracks to be played in public online MP, specially the community Ninja tracks.
+ Prizes in winning online MP matches (customization + coins).
+ Trials Fusion's type of challenges should be back instead of the contracts, maybe make them 5 in each track instead of 3. Also attaching special prizes / customization options that you can get only through the single player tracks challenges, that would be nice and will give players a good reason to play tracks again without getting bored.
+ Adding a "recommended by RedLynx" description next to good tracks in the TC.
+ Adding slow motion & Rewind option in the Replays.
+ Separated sections for the overall leaderboards, Skill games & Trials Tracks should have their own overall leaderboards.
+ Bigger fonts and clean/smoother UI.
+ An option to change the background in the main menu & the loading screen + music selection option to remove the songs I don't like (Same as Super smash bros. OST options)
+ Removing the code that lets player upload tracks from the Editor to the track central without actually finishing them,
this is VERY important Redlynx, without exaggeration this is one of the top things that should be done in Trials Rising. I believe this code is ruining the game partially. Because of this code in the Editor, people can easily upload trolling tracks that can't be finished, or glitched tracks, And most importantly uploading very hard unreasonable tracks that even the builders themselves can't even finish.
Also Its not efficient when a builder uploads a track by testing each check point individually and not testing the whole track from the start line until the finish line, builders wont see the mistakes and how frustrating their tracks are until they play it from start to finish.
So if someone wants to build a very hard track, no problem my friend, just play it from start to finish then upload it, simple as that.
That's all the notes I had and I hope I didn't forget any. I'm glad players such as Core2tom & Hairy Cabbage are sending great feedback in such a nice way and I hope everyone participate to give as much feedback as we can.
I'm also glad that players like Storm Psykoz are making videos about the differences in the Ninja techniques. (CLICK HERE)
This is the community that plays Trials almost daily. We want our game to get better and this is why we are doing all of this.
We know this was a beta and doesn't represent the final game. We believe in you RedLynx, you have 5 months to go and I'm sure its enough to work on our feedback and I know that you will continue to do that even after launching Trials Rising.
Good communication with the fans is important and we would like if you give us an update on our feedback and opinions soon.
Lastly I want to thank UbiKeeba for her quick response in the forums, we appreciate your assistance.
Thank you for reading & Best Regards,

From my understanding on your previous replies on other threads, my feedback alongside other players are being sent directly from you to the devs/team who are working on Trials Rising. That's great but could you tell us when can we expect a reply or an update on our beta feedback?
Frankly speaking, me and a number of players are hesitant to pre-order the game, not until we receive an update specially on the new mantis bike physics / loot boxes / contracts & sponsors system.
Awaiting your reply.

It's been exactly 1 month since the beta for Trials Rising concluded, I wonder when we will get any updates/news based on our feedback?
Looking forward to hear from the development team soon![]()
