However, a Rogue can't build much Constitution because "rogue only" gear persuades you to build for Dexterity, or only drops with Dexterity. In other words, Dexterity doesn't roll on Warrior gear and Constitution doesn't roll on Rogue gear (though, that doesn't mean the respective classes don't have other ways of building what they lacking).

In Division, you'd have to make something similar. Since there are no classes in Division, a certain "brand" of gear wouldn't be able to roll a stat that another brand would be able to. In this case, crit damage vs base damage. Right now, an Alpha Bridge mask can roll the same major and minor stats as a Firecrest mask. So that's why it's crit everything.
I agree with you to some extent, but I would place the blame on the lack of real options. To be honest their are only 3 rolls, crit, skill, and enemy damage(PVE). Back when the game was young and a lot more bright eyed and shiny it had lots of options. Weapon damage on the mag, skill buffs on each piece, armor, mod slots. Not sure why they streamlined everything, maybe to make it feel easier to grind, or just to avoid locking players into one thing. Whatever the reason I have felt like it lost the games soul.

Why is their so little diversity in gear rolls?. Why are the rolls so obvious for best in slot? Why not have options like crit chance resistance? Give us the option to increase all skill duration, all Security wing resistances, Add a general % weapon damage to the gloves (maybe link it to the other weapon % so you cant have 22%). With the exception of the limited gear slots this game has a very good RPG system. It just feels like it has been ignored and abandoned. they could make the choices better and thus allowing for more subtle counters. High Crit defense would counter groups running with a high skill pulse. If they really wanted they could consider crit damage as something like exotic damage. I am not trying to go over every possibility (I mean if they want to pay me I will). I guess I would just say I dislike how it seems crit is mandatory in this game. In most games I prefer the flat damage characters. Essentially it seems like 90% of players are just running rogue/thief classes.

While I think about it..... that is another reason SMGs are so dominant. LMG damage was nerfed to account for out of cover damage. AR damage is mostly on par with SMGs yet EAD is next to useless in PVP. Seems to me like the SMG is given a really useful bump over the other weapons for almost no realistic reason. And that is the problem, the system is now halfassed and the remaining half is all that is left.

Anyway this is just a basic idea of what could be. I mean this is a Triple A game supposedly, not a mobile game with simple damage/armor stats

    Offense
    Crit chance
    Crit damage
    All Weapon damage
    Specific weapon damage
    Armor penetration
    Head shot damage
Exotic damage enhance (could be something like + 5000 damage a tick, so grenade/harmful bleed or grenade/intense burn procs actually do some damage)

    Defense
Crit Resistance (reduce crit chance against you)
    Crit Resilience (reduce crit damage)
    Armor
    Health
    Penetration resistance
    EDR
    Status resistances (-duration)
    Status resilience (-damage)
    Explosive resistance

I know the Meta fear... but that is why we need viable options. If you rock full crit defence you can stop the abuse of deadeye, if you slap on some EDR and explosive resistance, meta seekers or sticky bombs get solved. Yes you become weaker in some aspects but that is the point. Giving the options for higher specific counters or lower general counters, higher specific damage or lower general damage.

Dude...... Im all for ppl having different views, afterall it can only make something stronger if ppl dont flock like sheep but if you have nothing positive to contribute to a thread do yourself a favour and forget you saw it. Seriously though.... even if the game is 2yo, there is a sequel in the pipepline and while it maybe to late a comment to affect the initial release, everyone is entitled to their pov. The forums dont close because a game gets to old until the mods lock it.

    .......

Back to OT - how can you not like survival? Its the best (or one of the best modes) in the game. Its my favorite hands down!

But yeah the game is very flawed in alot of areas. Lets hope they can use this base to build a D2 that we all want that is fun, balanced and most important of all doesnt repeat the issues of this game. Roll on next March.

Haha thanks Johan, that is great.

got any of your own personal ideas you are allowed to share, even if it is something as simple as wishing the Firecrest burn chance was raised from 2% to 5%. Or what your current favorite build is and why?

Theres some good stuff in here. I'm a fan of the idea certain pieces give you certain perks however i think that'd end the same way as metas and would limited your options somewhat if you had to have pred gloves to get shrapnel.

I didnt like survival, i think you need to run the pve with someone experienced in it to get to know how it works. However i really enjoy it as a game mode now, finished the shield etc for it. Even though you've got a time limit, you need to be patient.

If you want to run it, during this GE is a great time as you can plan attacks on the npcs with a bit more devastating effect. Im on xbox, if you want to run it with me, drop me a pm

Well maybe you would want shrapnel gloves or maybe the Classy knees that give 50% bleed reduction or holster that increase bleed damage caused by pistols by 60%.... if they made each option good then everything would have a use.... I am not talking about picking between EXP knees or shortbow knees. All the items would be tough choices like maybe the backpack could ignore immunity but reduce bleed damage by half or something similar. options are better than obvious choices is all i am saying.

What is it with everyone on the forums and survival. I have beaten the mode. I have no issues soloing it, I just find it pointless and tiresome. it is like fortnight BR and i hate that awful no progression reset gameplay too. Plus the nerfs they made to skill power really made that mode even more unbearable to me. Shield is melted, sticky does nothing, heal box is gimped and everytime i need it, it only lets me use a medkit.... but you are right about the GE.... might be worth just speeding through it only to get to the hunter.... heck I could just let my controller move by its self just to get the 5 hours... don't actually need to play it that much. would not be the first time I killed 5 hunters in there. Thankfully it would be the last.
