    Internet Speeds

Just curious what speeds people are running. Sometimes things seem on the up and up and I can be some what competitive. This evening I jumped on and took out a couple of rogues, but then I was doing very little damage and then getting melted. It was happening with the NPCs and players. I am running 15 mbps and trying to figure out if maybe my internet is the problem, instead of the servers or people cheating...

I get 100-200 mbps on the ps4 and i still suffer horrible lag at times. Taking high damage and only dealing small damage on some servers is common for me.

I get ~140-180ms ping but I still get lag.
Sometimes it can get pretty bad.

Ping test last night was like 38 ms...read last night that anything under 50 is good and that anything over 150 could make online gaming unplayable...i also read that you should hardwire the PS4 to the router, but that isn't an option for me...

at 15 mbps, if its a steady connection you should have zero issues playing the game. Id be willing to bet your connection isnt the issue and its just the game. i have 200 mbps download and over 50 up and some days you just cant enjoy the game because of the lag. The games connection has the consistency of my grandpas poop after a hot wing eating contest.

It doesn't matter what your speed is, the servers always work to the lowest speed out of the players you're connected to.

Server speed always plummets after the GEs as they remove the extra server capacity.

As they remove servers it becomes more and more likely that at least one player out of twenty-four will have a crappy connection. They don't even have to play PvP, they're still connected because of the netcode used in this game. Even the map and menus require the servers.

It doesn't help that the chicken dance overloads the server queue on purpose, there are several exploits that spam the firing mechanics which will also use up more bandwidth.

If they controlled the exploits and stopped the cheating then the lag would be less game breaking. It would still happen, just less often.
As it is, the games a mess and it's mostly on their end.

It gives me high hopes for Div2. Can't wait to see if they've fixed all of these problems or just ignored them

If anything, the most minimal thing they should do is show us every player's latency/ping rate and geo location so that we can make an informed choice as to whether players are deliberately slowing themselves down or not. Or if we should move to another server cause some *** wants to use latency to their advantage.

Most of the issues on their end. They've been shown/advised this time and time again, and it's falling on deaf ears. They don't care because they've bled out most of the money that they could out of this game, and they're concentrating on Division 2 at this point.

I could be mistaken but In the beginning i believe they used regional locks which helps a ton but after they ran everybody off after a few months they had to put us all in it together just so people would other players to play with.
