Not sure I follow.... The Sandstorm beta is out right now and it's final release for PC will be in December. It gets a release on console next year.

I mentioned RDR2 getting released next month and the online beta in Nov.

Ah you're right, the release date I had in mind was the old one before they decided to postpone it

There are plenty of players here that are willingly shelling out money to purchase "content" packs for $20 or more. "Content" packs that include what like 3 or 4 items? Compare that price to the price of the ENTIRE game OR when the ENTIRE game goes on sale. That's $20 for 3-4 items vs. THE ENTIRE GAME for anywhere between $30-$60. Think about this for a moment and think about the disparity between the content you are getting from a DLC vs. the whole game. Really, sit and think about this. It's ridiculous.
Agreed, I would probably instantly spend that amount for actual playable content, not for some skins. Each to their own. Borderlands 2 did it well for example, it had expansions, some minor stuff and skins, I bought all 4 expansions. It's like that many companies think that they can only release expansions or skins, not both and usually it's the skins that win there because it takes 0 effort and can profit a lot.

I'm also on cosole so that means I have to wait until next year. The good news is that any refinements / additions between now and then will be included in that release.

I gave up on GW a while back after the disappointment of never seeing lobbies materialize for CM
    Understandable sentiments and well said.

I have often said that my view of Wildlands is as part of a franchise and not a single game and that the community is one of its greatest strengths. I hope you guys and all the others that contribute to this forum, including those who do not see eye to eye with me on a lot of things, realise how much weight your ideas and suggestions carry.

The only thing that will change companies from doing this is Government Regulations. Which seems to be happening as I write this.

Netherlands pushes for EU-wide loot box legislation

Yesterday's report -- Study into loot boxes: A treasure or a burden? -- found that four out of the ten most popular games on an unnamed video streaming platform were in breach of the Betting and Gaming Act.
However, the NGA has yet to reveal which games were found to be in breach of the law.
"The names of the games will not be communicated at this time," said a spokesperson. "The NGA will enter into contact with the four game providers that have been found to violate the law.
"The NGA now wants to first clarify the market by promoting the standard. In the absence of behavioral change, the NGA can ultimately proceed to take enforcement measures."
Neither the Dutch Games Association nor the Dutch arm of the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (NVPI) have been able to extract additional details on the ruling.
"We are currently in the process of evaluating the findings in the report," an NVPI spokesperson told GamesIndustry.biz.

Now Belgium declares loot boxes gambling and therefore illegal

The Belgian Gaming Commission looked at Star Wars Battlefront 2, FIFA 18, Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and found only Star Wars was not in violation of the country's gambling legislation - and that's only because EA stripped out the game's loot boxes after its launch debacle.
It determined FIFA 18, Overwatch and CS:GO's loot boxes are a game of chance and so are subject to Belgian gambling law. Battlefront 2, at the time the investigation was conducted, did not have loot boxes, so escapes unscathed.

Personally I don't see Ubisoft putting enough effort into the integration of feedback. Yes, they added a lot of requests, but the implentation was poor. See Tier 1, see Ghost Mode, see timetable on team customization, see requested weapons and bugs, see timetable on requested equipment (and yet again quality)...

I have a hard time to show any excitment for the next installation of this game. What I want (and actually expected based on the advertisment Ubisoft had before the release) was something along ARMA 3's mod 'Hunter Six'. That kind of mission and feeling is what I want - also a lot of people here are asking for somehting like this (for those on PC who have the game, give the mission a try and see if I am right). But I don't see Ubisoft working at all on improving the single player experience. It is obviously an afterthought to coop since they see the social expect as a cheap aquisition program with players reaching out to friends. It is understandable from a commercial point of view, but the result is a game that stops being enjoyable once the community moves on and I don't think Ubisoft changing this approach.
