Hello all, I’ve been away from the game since Narco Road came out so playing a little bit of catch up. I have some questions about Ghost Mode and Tier One.
1. I already beat the main campaign and have unlocked Tier One mode. Do people suggest doing Tier One mode in the regular campaign (Not in Ghost Mode)?
2. What are people doing for Ghost Mode in terms of the HUD? Is there a community standard that people suggest?
3. Is Ghost Mode only for the main campaign or can it be unlocked for the side campaigns, Narco/Fallen Ghosts?
Are you interested in earning prestige credits to get clothing and weapons and things that were previously only available as microtransactions?
Tier One mode will give you 300 prestige per tier once in the vanilla campaign and once in Ghost mode. If you want to maximise your rewards I recommend doing vanilla to tier 1 first, then doing Ghost mode to tier 1. The first one will be a huge grind, the second one will feel much easier since you get 50% more XP, tier points, and resources from all sources in Ghost mode.
Ghost mode will also deliver you large onetime 3000 prestige payouts at level 30 and at tier 1, and you'll get onetime 400 prestige rewards each time you take down a buchon or higher boss.
If you're less fussed about rewards I'd say play Ghost mode exclusively for the single primary, realistic reloading, friendly fire, et cetera. Unless you don't like all those realism options.
Back up your savegames if you do Ghost mode but don't like permadeath.
As for HUD, well, I always recommend absolutely zero HUD when playing for pleasure, though I'll turn it on sometimes for some challenges or to grind rewards faster.
Finally, no, unfortunately there's no Ghost mode version of the DLC campaigns. DLC campaigns are also missing AI teammate customisation, though at least Ghost mode has that. The game treats it kinda like a DLC in some ways though. Like you have to fully restart the game to go back to the main menu from Ghost mode. Bizarre.
Hope that helps.
The main Campaign and Ghost Mode are totally separate. They’re both the same essential game, but they’re treated as separate modes.
If you play the normal Campaign, grind out Tier 1 mode all the way and get all the rewards, you still won’t be able to use them in Ghost Mode; you have to play it fresh from scratch.
Now whether you want to grind Tier 1 on Ghost Mode or not will depend on how much you care about the exclusive rewards, namely Prestige Points & the Gold Shader for the Exo-Suit that you unlock as you play Ghost Mode.
If you die in Ghost Mode, your actual save data for Ghost Mode is deleted. Straight-up deleted; you lose absolutely everything. If you do every possible thing, grind out Tier 1 until you have only one single XP until you max it out, and the die...it’s all gone. Everything. Start over from complete scratch.
Also, be warned that the Prestige Point rewards are a one-time reward, so if you beat a Buchon and get the Points, die, restart and beat them again, no reward. The only thing that stays unlocked are the pieces of Exo-Suit and its shaders if you’ve unlocked them.
Personally, I wouldn’t touch Ghost Mode until you finish the normal Campaign and are very familiar with it and the game’s mechanics. Especially important if you try Tier 1, as it gradually forces you to increase the difficulty as you progress, up to the point that as soon as you’re detected, you will die instantly with no chance yo even fight back. You must have mastered the normal game to have a chance of doing this in Ghost Mode.
Any special items that you’ve actually purchased or gotten from a loot crate will be available in Ghost Mode from the very start though, so if you’ve spent cash on them, you’ll have them.
And finally, you can back up your save data if you need to. Should make thhings a little less stressful.
As for HUD, assuming everything else is on, I turn off the following:
-Objective Markers
-Rebel/Team/Enemy Markers
-Detection Clouds
-Hints
-Team Status
-Button Reminders
Good luck!
Yes, your save file is actually deleted.Originally Posted by Renegade_34G Go to original post
The game will remember that you already got to tier x or killed boss y and not give you prestige credits for those a second time.
Otherwise it's as though that savegame never happened.
So back up your save files if you want to negate permadeath or at least have the option if you consider yourself to have been killed unfairly by a bug or whatever.
