Alright, I'm going to argue that the update, intended to correct issues that have plagued the game and have been frequently channelled up, has not met satisfactory standards.
I do disclaim that some issues have been corrected and I give many thanks for those. However, at this stage, that is merely a step towards trust and not praise.
Obviously, the biggest issues concerning my no-go vote is something being claimed as "fixed" when it is not. Example being locked attachments. Big surprise: An update released to fix things didn't fix things.
Not only that, the update ignored a plethora of other prominent bugs primarily centered around weaponry. A weird anecdote is one of the revolvers' sight alignment was supposedly corrected but not any of the other weapons with similar issues. Magazines are still bugged, animations bugged, and accessory locations on weapons bugged. The most awesomenessest issues are when they introduce cool new toys with bugs. Here, it's especially heinous for two reasons: One, they released it on a supposed health update, and two, they put it behind a paywall. So much sl**ze, you can soak it up in a towel and wring it out into a bachelor party-sized punchbowl of "f*ckyou". One would at least expect decent quality control for four items priced at 20 whole smackeroos. Nah, not today.
As far as quality of life concerns, some were addressed which I can adore. I do maintain that some movement in proper direction is still positive. But dear (insert respective religious figure), you only hardly scratched the surface of this mountain of legitimate complaints of AI behavior, physics, and interface which still cause issues for players. As a "health" update, it should have bugs as a primary concern and then quality of life issues second. As we see here, they attempted to do both simultaneously at the sacrifice of completeness. Both got some love but ultimately are still lacking.
The final reason for unsatisfactory release is the push for more mIcRoTrAnSaCtIoNs at holy-balls prices. Seemingly sweet to release community requested items at a time that invoked relief that many issues would be corrected as a cherry on top of this mouth watering moist cake. But da cake is a lie. It was not a gesture of "sorrey ol' buddy ol' pal", but instead another opportunity to hype new gear for three easy payments of your first-born, your car, and a unicorn's heart. If you don't own the pass, the new toys would collectively liquidate 50 smackeroos, which I can't see myself siphoning out of my liquor funds for. We want them, but we also want to be able to play without noticing or being impeded by glaring bugs and glitches. Looking gorgeous is only half the battle.
You got close to par but I anticipated much more concerning the bugs and glitches. A decent amount of good you did for the community, but bad always takes precedence especially with the issues being brought up now, and the store issues that honestly detract from your stars. I'd say it's about a half and half ratio for the good versus bad (which still a no-go grade). Also, why is "sl*azy" censored? That's dumb.
It's funny that you should mention "liquor funds".
The thing that got me to start buying microtransaction items in the first place was the realisation that people in many societies---including my partner who doesn't really play the game any more but keeps drinking, rip---spent a truly absurd amount of money on poison that maybe, if you're lucky, makes you feel good and have fun for a few hours and then wears off.
And I started to feel a lot better about throwing a fraction of that sort of money at items for a game I love and have spent somewhere between 1000 and 2000 hours playing by this point. The items may be virtual, but I will always have them, and they won't wear off like intoxicants.
Also they won't destroy my liver, so that's always a plus. ))))
It's nice to finally see all the items we wanted for such a long time. And I was thinking about getting one of the packs, while waiting for the update to download. Then I got into the store and was reminded of the prices. I checked here to confirm my suspicion and yet again a bugged release that wants € 15+ to be added to my inventory. And finally I looked at the game itself and saw that my friends moved on, I've played the missions over and over so now I can't really stand them. There is no real new content or depth and after 2 years of Ghost Packs that I honestly couldn't care less about I simply don't have any reason to get those that I actually would like to use since the game has become so incredibly pale...
A year sooner and I'd cringly probably bought both Season Pass 2 and the new Ghost Pack and it might have kept the interest of several people I know that were driven away by the direction the game took... somewhat of a day late and a dollar short situation...
Yea there's still a few issues even with the update, I won't vent on about the Relentless pack not being free to Y2 holders. I've done that enough in other threads. People have already commented on the mag issue eith the LVOA-C, then there's the "issue" with the Ultimak. The "100 round drum" is actually a 60 round magpul drum mag.....
They also didn't fix the issue with the 3x magnifier. It is still @ss backwards on the HUD. When you flip it to the side, so you're just looking through the red dot, the HUD reads 3x when it should read 1x. Conversely, when you engage the magnifier, so you're looking through the magnifier AND red dot, the HUD reads 1x when it should read 3x. It's been a year and a half, how has this not been fixed?
Also, somehow the reticle changes on the EoTech when you switch through the magnifier. There's other issues with it, I'll just start another thread later tonight showing it.
I must admit for me its not anger. I still don't agree with the notion that Ubisoft owes us anything. The game delivered a heck amount of content and contrary to popular opinion the Y2 season pass had a clear statement what was contained, but people kept deluding themselves that they would get more - ironically to the point that Ubisoft gave in and yet people still complain.
My frustration comes from other things:
1. Poor quality of new releases. I doubt its the QA because those issues are so hard in your face that even a blind persons sees it
2. Lack of new story content
3. Store prices are just far too high IMO - on the other hand though Ubisoft keeps giving away a lot of free stuff.
4. The content that comes out now has been requested for ages while 'funny' packs kept being thrown at us, yet these were only released after a major outcry from the community - why does it always come to this with this title? Why is there such a huge gap between the community and what the dev team decides to do?
100% Agree. So many new Rifles, but literally nothing to shoot at anymore.Originally Posted by biomag83 Go to original post
