Ran into a person this evening- and I use that term loosely in this case - in the DZ on Xbox. Went Rogue on us- fair enough- ballsy - we were a team of 4 he was solo - immediately his health was a black bar yet he kept running around in a circle and we could hear him laughing. Then he stopped- still black bar health - and in a one mag burst from his House he dropped all 4 of us - 2 X Nomad included.
Reported him to both Ubi and Xbox. One of my buddies recorded the entire thing and has submitted it to both as well. I can guarantee that this player never faces a ban from Ubi/Massive. Microsoft may be another matter
Sounds like the cronus shuffle or lag switch. I doubt he will be banned. I yesterday met a player i reported a few months ago, this player recorded himself killing my team using a cronus showstopper and sent it to me, it was the most obvious use of a cronusmax you could imagin. I sent the vid to ubi, reported the player for using a cronus, ubi replied and agreed that the video does indeed visualise the problem ive reported and that they would look into it. The player was never banned, ive met them multiple times in the dz. I also have player on my friends list who uses a titan on console, he can headshot contantly with 0 recoil at 30 meters, the titan also allows players to teleport in the dz, its much worse than a cronusmax, costs about 5x as much, hes been reported many times and never banned. I dont know what kind of proof you need to submit to ubi for them to take action against a player but it seems a video of them clearly cheating is never enough.Originally Posted by thecaveman991 Go to original post
As long as Ubi's method of investigating hacking involves a player submitting a video, they will never be trusted to be able to deal with hacking. On the day when their response to hacking accusations is "we'll check the logs and see what happened" then they might be trusted a bit more. If there ever is a day where a hacking report is met with "the auto-hack detection already caught that and suspended the player" then there will be no question about what they are doing to prevent hacking.
Perception is everything. If the system isn't built to catch hacking, then it will be obvious that this is the case, when it fails to catch blatantly obvious hacking.
The system isn't even built to stop hacking. TD1 is a lost cause and honestly nothing is being done about it.Originally Posted by thepingguy Go to original post
True, at least for PvP. I'm mostly a PvE guy, and there is plenty of good there left to be had. But when I stick my head into Last Stand to see how fast it gets shot ff, it would be nice to be able to trust that I was losing to skill rather than hacks. Same goes for the DZ.
