Have others experienced a convoy abandoned by its ground protection force? Happened to the Media Luna convoy in the south, just south past the small UNIDAD OP. All vehicles were still operational. Had blocked the road, then with crossbow sniped the lead gunner from a hidden position. Everyone got out and stood around for the required amount of time. Then the truck driver and his shotgun rider hijacked nearby cars, and everyone left, leaving only the helo.

Thought it was an interesting variation. Certainly not quick and deadly, but when you're totally alone ...

Honestly? Kudos to the AI for making the right call for their own safety, lol.

Yest indeed, honestly!. Until last night I'd only seen the protection force return to the vehicles, and wait. And the two guys in the truck not leave their vehicle (if not disabled) - waiting to start off again.

The AIs in the convoy are not coded to follow the payload truck, instead they are coded to follow that one AI that's driving the payload truck. If that one AI driver decided a new car is better, then rest of AIs will just follow him (sans the chopper, since it seems to be actually following a different route).

I’ve seen the lead security vehicle just drive away after I attacked the supply truck, but the rear vehicle stayed and the troops fought back. It was odd nonetheless.

Only happened once though, and it was fairly recently.

One time a convoy I was tracking via the map stopped, and so went to investigate; the lead vehicle was gone. Just simply not there, and there was no road blockage of any kind. There was of course a backup of vehicles behind the two remaining convoy vehicles, but the AI was sitting, waiting for --- death I guess ...

For the first time since launch, this weekend, I had a convoy just stopped on the road not going anywhere. When I shot the truck driver from a distance the lead car then came at me.
