This might be a unpopular opinion, but either invest in more server capacity or stop doing free weekends. We had the same issues with the last shield, when Survival was unplayable for several days and you had to allocate more server capacity.
The lag is unreal right now, and i know you don't give a sh*t about it, but in my long carrier of multiplayer games, i've never seen anything so bad. And i'm not exaggerating.
My team just wiped on Madison Roof Top legendary because all the skills stopped working. Not because of the EMP- effect from the first wave agents, but because the server simply didn't process our data. The enemies time warped all around us like wall hacking elites and then boom; we all were laying on the ground dead.
I pressed everything, skills, super, med kit, but nothing.
When The Division 2 comes out, you better have done something about this.
I fullly agree. They have not enough devs to fix important issues such as the D3 exploit, since the team is so busy with TD2. No wonder that they cannot handle the full servers during the free week. I recommend to focus on demands of the loyal players first, before trying to attract new ones with free weekends.

Anything after that and you have to potentially put up with more issues than good things. Lower server cap., broken mechanics, etc.
Im not defending any company but thats the reality of it. At this stage of play, there probably isnt any profit coming in for the game. That was all made with the release of the game and the season pass/dlc. So any enthusiasm for supporting the product can only go one way - down! $$$ from MTs will very likely never reach the levels it needs to for a company to allocate more resources to it 2 years down the line. Look at it this way - weve had 2+ years on imperfect support but its just about been good enough to play. Some of the time at least. Only a limited budget was ever allocated to support this game after year 1 so....... here we are. The same will happen for TD2. Almost surely.![]()
Skills always go to **** on that wave on Madison the game doesn't seem to handle it - sometimes you even notice the whole game freeze momentarily when the boss wave spawns as it can't cope - which seems to knock things out of sync from then on.
I noticed a fair bit of skill lag earlier though - doing WarrenGate a few instances where either nothing happened at all or the activation was lagged 10 seconds behind
It is a bit of an issue with this game as a few things are quite broken which are masked when the server provisioning is more than adequate but as soon as they cut it to the bone or it is under-provisioned for the load fall apart![]()
I've been finding that the sticky bomb since the update has been a huge issue, stick it to an NPC for crowd control, doesn't work, like nothing happened (nevermind the free weekend, its just reached a whole new level). Its gotten so frustrating and i constantly get killed because of it. I don't use it when they're coming out a door, i use it when i get rushed by shotgunners.
Also had some NPC's end up in a wall and area one never thought possible, like you say, wall hacks. Couldn't kill the NPC and couldn't go further, had to restart the legendary mission.
They don't care. We've been telling them about the server problems since the first GE. Every time they have free weekends. Every time they have a GE. It's weird that we can see when they'll have server issues, but they can't.
I wonder whether the people playing for free would be willing to pay for this lagfest? Do they think this is giving people confidence in Div2?
It's also possible that people seeing Div1 giving away free weekends is just free publicity for Div2. It's like saying 'look, we're still doing stuff with the first game'.
My guess is they're just trying to get a few more sales before the game is left to die![]()
Yes, but if that support wouldn't have dropped this game to immediately start on the sequel. We would have had a longer lifespan for this game, instead they dropped the ball and headed for what they believed is their best to make major cash. This is their business model, make game, scrap support, start new game. Who cares if the game sinks or swims at this point. To many people are supporting this and that is bad business idea to me.Originally Posted by agentCoats Go to original post
