Yep, kill the first MBP, with the least units you can. Then when he raises Pope and MBP, let him kill any warrior you may have damaged and wait... Wait to them come forward and to see if he back ups anything else on that attack, maybe another ranged or assassin or Both and... Cokk magic them! Cokk magic at lvl 4 is really sweet!
I discovered a convoluted way to ruin that strategy! MBP was down to about about a quarter health left when I sent out Alien Clyde to poison him. Then I used mind control on MPB while he was still poisoned. So he died while in my control and while this was happening mt opponent wasn't sending out any units because it was obvious he was going to use Pope Timmy. Anyway, when MBP died because he was in my control at the time when my opponent summoned Pope Timmy he summoned the unit who died BEFORE MBP instead! So, that's a neat little thing to remember if you can pull it off.

Sadly it is not a reliable counter. If they are competent they will save purify for MC the second they realize you play scifi. They purify MBP which instantly wastes 4 of your energy. This will also remove the poison from MBP which also wastes your alien clyde. Not to mention most high end mystic players are aware of this and will throw out SNR instead of pope timmy on the off chance they do not have purify ready. SNR and pope is almost as strong as MBP pope.
