14 sept. 2018. Thoughts, impressions, experiences, good and bad.
Hi there,
First off, after starting, downloading, and installing for the first time the Closed Beta at 13 september 2018, I encountered many problems, my controller did not work properly, I got a black screen at the tracks, I had the contract failed issue, it showed a dual shock controller where I use an xbox controller, the resolution was set to 1600 by 900 windowed by default, I could change it to 1080 by 1920, where I have an ultra wide screen 2560 by 1080.
So I decided to delete the game from my system and download and install it again, but to no avail. So, I head to the forums, there will be more people with the same issues. There I came across a workaround for the pc. Go to "mydocuments\trialsworldtour\savedgames and delete everything in there and start the game all over. Thats what I did.
My controller worked just fine, it showed the xbox controller, gone were the black screens at the start of the track, the contracts were available, so I could play and finish them all and the game started full screen ultra wide.
I have to mention that I lost all my gear as well when I deleted the saved games folder. But it gave me a perfectly playable game.
What else, I thought I have a look at the leaderboards at the track, and see how the toplayers perform. What happened, on my worldmap on the track I viewed I got a diamond medal, how's that, so I thought to get rid of it I play my own replay and have my own medal back, but this did not work out, so now I have all diamond medals where I don't deserve them.
Besides, the replay's looks rather stiff and jerky.
I like most of the music, very relaxing at times, sometimes stimulating, I like the change.
Well that is it, the game is allmost finished, it looks and feels wonderful. It is challenging, very joyful with the music, the gear, the details, name it. I can't wait, thanks for having me playing the beta.
Success with everything.
ps
It would be nice if there could be a sortorder in trackcentral by how many players did actually finish the track. I am not to good, so for me and others improving will make it easyer to sort extreme tracks by how many have finished the track to have the easy ones first and work your way down this way to the more difficult and less finished tracks. It would also be nice to search for trackbuilders by part of their name and with or without caps to choose from a list if there are more alike.
