Hello I am so disappointed. I was really excited about Far Cry 5. I don't even think you understand how excited I was. I mean like I was SO excited I couldn't even stand it. Somehow I managed to hold out until I could afford to buy it. Then when I bought it from an Amazon seller brand new still in the factory plastic wrapper it kept crashing in the intro, so I ordered another brand new directly from Amazon themselves still in the factory plastic wrap and it did the same thing. Finally I realized the next time I turned the XBOX on that if I hit continue I could continue in the game. Oh man I was cautiously so excited. I didn't want to get my hopes up though you know?! Low and behold it froze a few times during the car chase. I had it on hard difficulty. I figured that could be the cause and I had kept dying anyway I couldn't beat it so I switched to medium difficulty and I finished the intro no problem easy peezy no freezy. By the time I looked around in the doomsday bunker I was REALLY excited by this time. Then when I was freeing some sad soul from some crazy lunitic cult members it froze again. I took heart and restarted the game, no problem just once ok keep going. Then just randomly at different times mostly when I paused the game it would freeze. So now it freezes pretty much when I pause it. This has happened almost a dozen times and I have had enough. I am crushed and heartbroken by this. I really like this game and I am incredibly sad. Please help me. For what it's worth I have the 1TB XBOX ONE FALLOUT 4 EDITION the pre-order Doomsday Prepper Edition XBOX ONE brand new, actually I have 2, but I'm sending 1 back. I checked that I had have all updates for FAR CRY 5 and XBOX ONE is completely updated. I already tried restarting console, clearing local save files, hard reset, complete shutdown, unplugging, uninstalling clearing local save files then reinstalling and starting a new game. I've tried everything. And unless you can help me I"m going to have to bury this game so to speak. Yes I am already in mourning because I don't think you can help me. Should I buy the Deluxe or Gold version, or a non-Doomsday Prepper Edition one? Or should I try purchasing a digital download? Please help me to be able to enjoy this game. Can you help me?

I'm sorry to see that this has been happening to you. There aren't any reports of this type of crashing for Xbox specifically, so it's certainly rather strange. Is the game fully patched and up to date? Do you have a friend or family member that also has an Xbox to test the discs on their console? You could also try clearing the console cache and trying with the console being completely offline. You can find some guidance using this link here. So I have a ticket in as well for this (07031782). I have the digital download of the gold edition. I was told by Ubisoft support the following:
“Your best option is to start by resetting the console display and audio settings. If that does not work, try lowering your display output resolution.
If you continue to experience issues, try clearing your Xbox One cached data then perform a reinstall of the game.
First, you will need to clear your Xbox One hard drive cache. To clear the cache on your Xbox One, you will need to power cycle the system. Power cycling will reset the network card and clear the cache.
1. On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for about 5 seconds until the light behind it turns off. This will power off the console.
2. After the console has shut down, unplug the power cord and wait 2 full minutes.
3. Plug the console back in and turn it on using the Xbox button.
4. Launch the game, and see if the issue has been resolved.
Next, let's uninstall the game by doing the following:
5. On the Xbox One Dashboard, go to My Games & Apps.
6. Highlight the game, and press the Options button on your controller.
7. Select Uninstall Game + Add-ons.
Note: All DLC items can be re-downloaded.
If the issue persists, test your game disc on a second console.
In some cases, you could have a bad game disc. Please try testing your game on a second console to determine if you have the same results.
If you have the same issue on a second console, please try exchanging your game disc at the retailer for a new copy.

Since then I have done all the steps instructed. I even resorted to a factory reset on my Xbox (elite). Reinstalled the game and it still doesn’t work. At this point I’m thinking about how to get my money back if I can’t find a way to make it work. I really want it to work.
Another note: I am the home Xbox to an Xbox one gen 1 (wife’s Xbox)It works fine on the gen 1. 😔
