Dunno whether anyone played the Godfather game?
It worked how I wished this game would work.
Attacking or taking over a Rival families stores, warehouses, or convoys would impact their money — which in turn would impact, how many goons they had protecting their properties and main family compound. And also how well armoured and how well equipped they were.
It would also impact there ability/frequency to attack your assets as well.

That’s how this game should work.
Similar mechanic has been introduced to AC Odyssey, doing similar activities hurt the influence and military strength of a local ruling warlord in that particular province...
