Anyway to opt out of doing it until you want too?

every time I approach the area it kicks me into the mission, and then fails me when I don't do it exactly the way they want, I cant knock anyone out. I cant go around them to a different avenue of approach. frankly I'm finding it kind of annoying.

I'm working on Ghost Mode and I'm trying to clear all the intels and weapons / accessory boxes before starting actual missions and this mission has both an Intel and a weapon box right inside it. not to mention about 50 Unidad that i cant kill. after an hour of this I'm beginning to get a little frustrated at it.

Yeah this happened to me. I wasn't even playing Matchwood but I was close enough that it must have decided I was doing the Matchwood mission. So I go kill some dude and get a "Mission Failed" screen pop up and reload my damn game!

You should be able to just select any other mission or unassign it from the mission list. I had to just do the mission for my wife to get the Ai from talking about Sam.

Nope I tried that, i selected a different mission from a nearby region that i hadn't started yet, and it did the briefing and then as soon as i approached the FOB base it triggered him again, and then marked me as failed when i killed a sniper.

apparently now that its triggered once I cant do any free roam in that province without it popping up and failing me for ignoring it. I'm planning on trying to activate the Rainbow 6 one to the point where one of them is actively following me and see if that does it.

Operation matchwood once activated, by going into the area, is always active. If you go near the area and break any of the mission parameters the mission will fail and you'll be dumped outside the base at 21:00.

As I've said before this mission should have a trigger by actively talking to someone, not by simply walking into the area. It's a tough mission, made easier with better gear and skills, and yet is in an area I suspect a lot will enter into early on.

I Kinda suspected this, thats fine, i'll just turn off Tier mode and change the difficulty to Arcade and get the bloody thing off my list

This worked for me on PC and xbox One. Ignore the audio prompts that sound like you're on the mission
