If anyone might know the answer, you guys are the ones.
Too much to copy and paste to here so I just linked the thread to here.

I have left repair instructions in the thread. The only thing that jumped out at me is the lone SP1. The internet is too hostile to leave your machine vulnerable. I saw the post when it was first made and have a hard time believing all was well until SH3 was installed.
Gary, can you provide any additonal information about your system and the events leading to problem? Is there an old dxdiag of yours in the forums somewhere?
While you both have the same result, the way you each arrived is different. Any light you could shed would help.

Steve, sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, we're in Pennsylvania for 2 weeks and time is limited for getting on the net.
I bought a new Maxtor SATA 120gig HDD and finally got XP installed. Asus P4P800-E Deluxe is working ok except for sound, but still working on that.
Now I've found that my 2 rear and the top exhaust case fans won't work. I believe the Thermaltake PSU is crapping out. I've changed plugs for these fans and they still won't run. LB and you were right. It might be the reason my WD IDE HDD quit but not sure. I was told that IDE wouldn't work with this mobo but it did before..... strange.
These are the readings I'm getting from the MoBo BIOS monitor.
V Core Voltage - 1.360v to 1.376v
3.3v Voltage - 3.40v to 3.42v
5v Voltage - 5.13v to 5.16v
12v Voltage - 11.85v to 11.97v
Be back in touch asap.
