    To OP,

First off only reason to even do these things is for something to do, sure as hell not for a stupid bear to hang off a backpack or a pair of dumb gloves.

So you got months of a dead game where these is nothing to do but the same things over and over and over, that should give you plenty of time to get these things if you want them.

    You lack dedication, my friend!

Think of it this way: You're not obligated to get that shield or owed it any more you are obligated or owed a platinum PS4 trophy simply because you purchased the game. It's something you earn and all you get for it is some cosmetics and gear you may already have. If you want it then you'll have to make the time, come up with a clever shortcut, or both. Everyone already received their participation trophy for the first shield. The rest you can only have if you go after them.

Keep in mind this is just a game. Nothing you earn in a video game matters beyond whatever personal value you have attributed to it. If it's meaningful to you to get the shields then just go after it with gusto. If IRL has stuff going on that's more important (this is normal for us adults) then who cares if you get some lousy cosmetics and imaginary armor? But don't complain it's too hard. Anything worth having - even if it's just imaginary toys - is worth working for.

BTW - if you're trying to rack up lots of kills try running Tac during the next GE. Seeker mines and the turret at the first part of Clear Sky should rack up a LOT of kills.

I know what you mean with Clown's Mask first round. That was really hard. We played all night and had to restart many times. It was really frustrating, but you could wear the mask proudly at least. There was no Classy Nomad at that time. And other ones such as Napalm or Stolen Signal Flawless or Security Officer needed a strategy and a good experienced team. That was really awesome. I miss the challenge in case of the Shields. If we want a challenge, we have to wait for TD2, it seems.
OMG the clown and pig masks were stupid hard to get. I finally got them the last time around and didn't cheese using Classified Nomad. Took several tries but did it. Hats off to everyone else that got theirs!

I don't have any issue with the shields being too easy. That said, I think Massive should give anyone who hits the 5k commendation score a special vanity item. It's a nontrivial achievement (in the context of the video game) and I think anyone who hit that score should at least get a cool pom pom beanie... or a tactical turtleneck!

Yes, a little reward would be nice. Piggy was also very difficult - and so ugly that I hardly wear it. That is a bit too much for me as female player. Clown's Mask is ugly too, but also freaky. Nevertheless, we do not fullfil these comms for vanity items, but only for it is a good feeling to master the challenge.
