I just had to give scripting a go, so I converted one of my multiplayer maps into a single player/co-op map. I wish I could have had some custom mission text, but I improvised...I think it works well enough. Give it a try if you're on PC.
Map Name: Screamland
Map Author: DrShakez
Map Mode: Bounty Hunt (actually a rescue mission)
Game Version: PC
Map Link: Far Cry Arcade
If anyone here has checked it out, please do give some feedback. I'm thinking of doing a fully original, fully scripted map, but I want a good scope of what kind of scripting people like to see. I also want to know peoples opinions on linear vs open ended, and if it this map had any confusion as to what you were supposed to do. Especially since it's not really a bounty hunt map.
Too bad you can't hide the extraction point in journey. I find it incredibly distracting.
Thanks! Yes, that bear is responsible for many wasted mags of ammo. The whole haunted house was originally designed with no scripting in mind (for the PvP version of the map), so I'm glad it still managed to hold up.Originally Posted by azulluna Go to original post
You can, I have the initial spawn points in a volume that makes the extraction point invisible.Originally Posted by DrShakez Go to original post
Thanks a lot! I was sad to see that my update didn't come in time for your video. Now when you shoot all the balloons at the darts game booth, you get a reward. Would have been great to see your reaction, haha.Originally Posted by Fallen-Champ Go to original post
Also, the red vials are a bit of a secret side quest. If you find and break all 4... something happens.
Oh man, was it really that simple? The same thing I did to hide normal waypoints in this map could have hid the extraction? Blah, that's embarrassing, lol. I literally made the map bounty hunt just for that reason. Thanks for the correction.Originally Posted by TripleTau Go to original post
Hey DrShakez, we loved your map and featured it!
It will also be featured in other platforms next week.
Plus, we played it in our FAN livestream today!
That was really fun to watch. Thanks for the spotlight and the kind words guys. Makes it all worth it.Originally Posted by PanettoniUBI Go to original post
