after an update on Uplay steam stopped detecting For honor even if all the files are in the the folder scanning it didnt do anything it just started downloading the whole game again now i cant update it and am on a metered connection i cant afford to start downloading the whole game without messing up my data plan

Are we discussing the main game or the Open Test? Please note that the Open Test did require its own installation different from the previous TTS.

I'm sorry to hear that this has occurred, it can sometimes happen with Steam games.

You should be able to resolve this through the steps in the guide here

Unfortunately in that case it may not be possible to retrieve them.

If you have moved the files to a different drive, it may be worth moving them back to the original location.
