Nuxia - a one trick pony?

First off, I want to say I like the concept that nuxia is going for here with trap attacks. They've already gotten me quite a few times (as I tend to look for the parry op a lot). That being said, outside of this, i dont particularly feel like she can put a noticeable amount of pressure on me when fighting her, mostly due to the fact that she can't trap on any heavy during a combo chain (or maybe I'm just bad and it wasn't working for me). If this is the case, I think a solid method to improve upon her use of heavy trap attack is to allow its use from any heavy, be it combo opener, chain, or finisher. More over, allow heavy trap to be chained out of. I'd be totally fine with heavy trap hitting for the amount of say, a chunkier light and give it the fluidity of being able to be used mid chain more easily as well as being able to chain out of it easier.

The zone trap also really only seems to ever be useful at all when you're ganking someone. Its wind up is so slow and telegraphed and the trap indicator pops up so quickly that I found it laughably easy to counter and I was only ever the victim of it once (when being 2v1 ganked). For a new mechanic, it shouldn't be that easy to adapt to this early on I feel. For sure give less trap indicator time when the trap goes out.

Also, maybe make traps affect dodges as well as dodging seems to be the catch all solution to heavy attacks that could potentially be converted into traps, as the dodge is a 100% safe option for dealing with either attack type (or so it has seemed to be in my case).

Lastly, give her more a few more combo mix ups and I think should give her a good set of tools to work from. Her potential is definitely there and trap attacks definitely are something in looking forward to throwing more wrenches into the mind game of combat, but right now, in their current forms, they feel like they're falling flat most of the time or too clunky to pull off correctly in the first place. Keep tweaking with her though, in looking forward to the different pace she'll bring to the fight.

Oh, and trap attacks are utterly useless against all bots of any level. They all immediately light attack as soon as you trap.

Any heavy can be cancelled with a Trap, she can do any 3-hit chain combo, and almost, if not, all of her moves are chain starters.

I think her Heavy Finisher Manipulation shouldn't be locked behind chain finishers because that and her Traps are the only things that make her special and both are very hard to pull off at higher levels. Heavy finishers tend to be parried which leaves the Manipulation mostly viable in ganking. The Manipulation should be available with any heavy if the player holds down the heavy attack button and successfully connects with a heavy. If the player doesn't hit his/her opponent with the heavy then the chain could continue.

Since her Traps are difficult to connect with I would give her an Unblockable Stun Attack that can also serve as a chain starter. That would compliment her Traps since you need to manipulate your opponent to connect with them. Stunned opponents tend to go on the defensive instinctively which would provide more opportunities to connect with the Traps.

Finally, perhaps her heavies and dodge attacks could to with a 100ms speed buff to boost her mix-ups.

More playing with her made me realize I was doing it wrong. You can trap from any heavy in a combo, but you have to commit to trap very early in the swing. I see why this is, but at the same time, they telegraph a lot and once I realized what they are, playing against nuxia, it was the easiest move to a avoid by simply moving my guard another direction and taking my free hit. I like what traps offer potentially but right now, they feel super telegraphed and easy to counter. I get why you don't want them to be spammable but considering that is her primary tool in the kit and her manipulation is on a heavy chain finisher, I have concerns about her viability as a duelist

i have to agree here, which is worrying for a 1vs1 focused character....
i would also agree that she feels somewhat sluggish, how do her heavys compare to raider or berserker? they seem kinda slow for the damage they do. idk, might just be me....
some form of kick or stun would definately complement her style.
