    Nuxia - Feedback

    Hello devs and forum.

    This is going to be my feedback on the new Wu-Lin character Nuxia.
    If anyone has suggestions on what to add, please feel free to do so in this thread.

    The Character:

    Nuxia is designed as a mix-up intensive character (hello centurion), what not necessarily means to have a hugh amount of moves but definitly needs adaptable timings to literally catch her opponent on/off guard while mixing up her moves. And right now, that is hardly the case.
    There are a couple of issues to her moveset and feats, what makes her weaker than - as a character she was designed - she should be.

    first things first, Traps:

    The timing on her ability to trap someone is terrible right now. Also the visual indicators (<- (!) notice that I use plural here, because there a two indicators for that) makes it very easy to react to her trap attempt, what allows her opponent to gb, emote tech, dodge, sb, ..., etc. her; or just in short: there is a lot of stuff that can punish her punish in a wrong way she is designed around.

    It is supposed to be good, to get her opponent on a block attempt, is terrible in getting someone on a parry attempt (parrying is better), and deflect I couldn't test so far.
    It is supposed to answer her trap attampt by throwing an (light) attack / parry at her. But as said, right now it is way too easy to do that in multiple ways and taking a look on all of those ways then there are better options than using a light / parry ... and that is what makes it really reeeally bad at the moment.

    -> Suggestion:
    1. make it possible to cgb during a trap attempt or make it immune to gb
    2. an opponent that is not locked on to something, or is emoting will get cought by a trap every time
    3. extend the time window for going into a trap; or in other words, allow her to delay her cancel into trap from a heavy

    Deflect:

    Deflect is bugged. It can be blocked.

    Moves / Mix-Ups:

    The idea behind to chain her lights, heavies, zone and cancels together to let her opponent guess what comes next feels fine in synergy with her ability to trap someone.

    -> Suggestion:
    1. give her zone attack uninterruptible stance during mid or start-up

    Feats:

    (T2) Caltrops:
    Not much to say but ...
    It feels like it does to less damage and/or diameter is too low. Very often I saw players running though it to get close at me while be aware of those caltrops, what negates his use as a defensive/tactical tool.
    It feels ok against minions but still does too less damage for that use (breach mode) considering up-time and cooldown time.

    -> Suggestion:
    1. increase damage dealt to enemies to 3 (from 2) and to minions
    2. increase diameter by 50% (at least by 25%), so it covers a larger area
    3. each caltrop proc slows enemies down (not able to run or sprint) for X seconds (X := 1-3 seconds)

    (T3) Takedown:
    Not sure why she has that. Probably for team fights but then it is not worth a T3 slot, especially for a character that is not meant to be a team fighter.
    So that feat seems to be a dead feat in her arsenal, unless there is a crazy unstabilize punish with her I didn't found out yet (not easy to test that without training mode).

    (T4) Regenerate:
    This feat is great for a mobile play stile (meaning you want to run around and don't want to sit or return all the time to a healing spot).
    On a assassin this is powerful, but as a T4 maybe a bit to late.
    However, this feat doesn't heal while sprinting, what results in a big minus for a mobile playstile.

    -> Suggestion:
    1. heals while sprinting as well

    Thanks for reading
    and hopefully we will see us on the battlefield
    when Marching Fire is out.

    Did some edits and make it more clean-looking.

    Her feats are just fine, Regen is not able to be used on run because it would be too powerful. Caltrops do enough damage, you can easily end up doing 80 damage to enemies passing through and can clear out minions with those alone.

    As far as her moves, most Nuxias I come across seem to use trap just fine, because it punishes the opponent for simply bringing their guard up in an effort to block or parry her next attack. A lot of people seem to think that trap is bugged, but I feel it is balanced as is since if the opponent even thinks about moving their guard to respond to that attack, you get a free punish.

    Forgot about her bugged deflect... added it to the list.

    It is reactable, that's the main issue. It is not a real problem right now but it will become one.

    In its current state you can basically unlock/emote tech her because of that (gb works like an unlock here, because you lose guard).
    Do I have to remind you that they removed unlocks from the game, because it's not wanted?

    Regen is not able to be used on run because it would be too powerful
    And why is that too powerful? (Btw. then the description is wrong - sprint and combat are two different things.)

    Assassins are meant to be mobile on the map (see renown description). A T4 feat like Regeneration should support that.

    I played Nuxia for a while now.
    Ican see the trap being problematic in duels, in 4v4 though it's actually a good thing.

    I also have come across a few who used an Emote or hidden stance

    Nuxia is not the only character to have Regen. Quite a few others like heavies and hybrids also possess this feat. It originally allowed anyone to regen continuously while sprinting. It was nerfed down to what it is now because it actually was OP and was a considerable problem. So no, Assassin's shouldn't be able to regen while sprinting at supah hihg spedz simply because they are assassins and can run around everywhere dilly dilly

    Thats true, but those characters that have that feat are characters that do not run around a lot. Those are mentioned to hold points/objectives, while assassins are supposed to run around and steal objectives and sneak in kills. You can find that intention in new perk system too. Even if you consider this as the role for assassins, the feat Infection would be still way better - not even talking about insane Berzerker feat.

    What they could do is, it won't heal you up to 100% then... but something has to happen.

    PS: Added a 3rd point to caltrops.

    Agreed. It won't really be a thing at launch, but players will get used to it and than it will be a huge thing.
    (It's similar to Tiandi's issue, but that's another story.)

    Deflect is still blockable on Marching Fire release date.
