2,3,5 are all good choices how to improve the options.

Gotta ask, why would you choose N in the permadeath for ghost? Aren't you ever bored that he gradually becomes a super-soldier, never can die and always only gets better. I think it's a tad boring.

What are you talking about? Your Ghost can die....you can only by revive once without the skill and two times with the skill upgraded, but you can die.

You die = game fails in main game
Permeadeath on Ghost Mode you die = everything is lost including progress

    That's how it should remain.

Umm, why should it remain, why not add the options to how you can play the game?

Why not add the option to permanently lose your ghost when he dies? Have you looked at State of Decay 2 where the individuals can die, but the game still goes on? That's what Wildlands could offer, and it would make the game much more exciting than in normal campaign, where you can just die & re-spawn / reload a million times without any other penalty than grinding. The game doesn't change at all.

I find that boring and it makes me feel that dying in the game has no real consequences inside the game. No history is created with my actions, I just re-wind everything back like with Forza's magical re-wind button. It kinda feels like cheating, the game is making saves and loads on your behalf, it's the old checkpoint system. (And Ghost Mode does auto-delete-savegame on your behalf...) Things could be much different.

Death in Clancy's movies and books always has consequences! As it should in Wildlands. The ghost squad loses some of it's members, that's life. That would make the game feel more organic, as respawning makes it feel too much like Super Mario World. With infinite lives. You teleport back in time. The feeling of tension and real consequences of your actions is hugely diminished, as there is only one possible path forward, and that is that your character cannot permanently die before the campaign is over. He will be alive in the end, and knowing that in a Clancy book in advance would kind of ruin the tension of the book, no?

I guess the plot and the cutscenes are to blame for having to keep him alive forever, but take them away and Wildlands if finally free from magical re-spawning and infinite lives. (And Ghost Mode still has it's huge flaws, even though it's a good step forward.)

I get that many players (and probably most casual players) like to play the game like it is today, but why not give a few options to the players??? Options for the main campaign. Why not allow the players to make the game feel more realistic, with death having real consequences to how you play the game.

I'm truly puzzled why anyone would oppose to having these options... Would Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter terrorist hunt become better if you took away the respawning settings and other options? Nope. Would Clancy's Las Vegas terrorist hunt become better by removing the options on how to play it? Nope.Think about if Wildlands had the options I suggested, would removing them make the game better? We would have the game we have today, with less options on how to customize the game for replayability's sake.

(If you think one has to play the game like it was made in the first go, then Ubisoft can give these options in a New Game+ mode or something...)

This could be the set of yes/no options for main campaign:

    1) Permadeath for ghost: Y/N (You lose your ghost & skills BUT campaign progress & resources & vehicles remain)
-->1.2) Gear & medals remain when ghost dies: Y/N
----> 1.2.1) Gear & medals can only be found & retrieved from dead ghosts backpack: Y/N

    2) Only one primary weapon: Y/N

    3) Realistic reloading mechanics: Y/N

    4) Friendly fire: Y/N

    5) Automatic ammo pickup: Y/N

    6) Regenerating health: Y/N

    7) Enemy tags disappear after 40 seconds if enemy isn't visible to ghost: Y/N

    8) Compass in place of the minimap: Y/N

    Did I miss anything big??

(And you could start the game with a ghost from a previous save, with the ability to re-assing skill points. "Wait at a safehouse for X number of hours" option should be always on. Maybe by pressing button X at the safehouse door? I'd like it in so I can use the night-time for sneaky missions and daytime for other stuff. Also add the ability to move the corpses, because a dead corpse causes an alarm.)

I think this list would be a huge step in the right direction. All of these options should be very easy to put in the game, and they would absolutely raise the re-playability and feeling of tension in Wildlands campaign mode to new heights! It would make the game much more dynamic and feeling less linear, which is perfect for an open world game! It would force the player to adapt to new situations with a rookie ghost, if permadeath is selected.

And in co-op the whole team dynamic transforms if someone dies and continues as a rookie, making things a bit more unpredictable and reducing the ability to always use the same tactics. The options also add the "mission" to retrieve your gear if you die. The options should be relatively easy to implement and they add much to the game. I think these options sound like a win-win to my ears.

    Agreed + 1

    Add to that list —>

    AUTOMATIC RELOAD - Y/N ?

WHY a game like this has automatic reload anyway is beyond me.

I wanna hear my gun go CLICK — 👍

Option to retrieve your gear Dark Souls style if you die I really like!

I agree. It's those little details that add depth to the gameplay for me. I would definitely use this option combined with the other ammo management suggestions.

He's saying an optional mode for campaign that will essentially reset your character progression when you die, but keep your campaign progression. So it's kind of like perma-death, without making you restart the game.

    Sounds good to me.

Automatic reload should be on the list, I agree.

Haven't played Dark Souls, but I think this a perfect way to enhance the feeling of continuity compared to to the endless save/load mechanics.

    2) Only one primary weapon: Y/N (NO)

    3) Realistic reloading mechanics: Y/N (YES)

    4) Friendly fire: Y/N (YES) but only with solo gameplay

    5) Automatic ammo pickup: Y/N (YES)

    6) Regenerating health: Y/N (YES)

    7) Enemy tags disappear after 40 seconds if enemy isn't visible to ghost: Y/N (NO)

    8) Compass in place of the minimap: Y/N (NO) just add a compass

Thought about the regenerating health, but it could be too hardcore for me with the permadeath for ghost enabled.

After completing the campaign, I'd like to go straight into a mode that lets me generate random missions to do, for replayability. Various objectives, randomly-generated AI in various locations, etc.
