Division PVP. Is it all about gears only?

I see a lot of times players asking for which build is good to wear and what's the current meta in The Division, and then try to replicate it even so unsuccessfully. Reminds me of one of MarcoStyles videos in which he was dropping players in Dark Zone while himself wearing purple gears. This indicates that in order to successfully engage in PVP battles, a player needs more than just a strong build.

While a meta certainly helps you in putting up with the fight, surprisingly - it only has 30% contributing in you actually winning the fight. What's the other 70%?

From my personal experience, I have made a list of 10 most important things I have seen almost every good PVP player is using in The Division.

    1. Change your Camera Sensitivity to 100% for movement and 70% scope
    2. Situational Awareness
    3. Scoping
    4. Strafe/Move/Strafing
    5. Flank
    6. Nading
    7. Use Fire Bullets
    8. Run Away and Reposition
    9. One The Move - Talent
    10. Use ALT

P.S: I have compiled a video explaining everything with examples, let me know if you guys wanna see it. I just don't want to post it here to make it look like I am self-promoting.

    Happy to hear some disagreement.

Don't mean to **** on your thread, but PvP in this game is a Joke.
Chronusmax , Aimbots , Hacks , in game Exploits/ Glitches.
Make it a very unfair playing field.
Sure, what you've listed are great suggestions for legit players.
But at the end of the day, players who've gone to the Dark Side ( What's worse is a Developer allowing it ) make it a bad memory for TD1🤫

    This.

Doesn't matter what you do and what you're wearing or doing. There's too many cheats kicking about and whilst the division is actually a really great game, its going to be remembered for the cheats, the devs allowing it and nothing else.

Ive lost track of the footage ive uploaded and sent on to them to report the cheats and yet i run into the same ones over and over. If the div 2 is the same i wont be placing anywhere near the time and effort into it i have with this one. If i find a cronus player on it i'll be walking.

Trust me, it's not too bad on consoles.

Thank you for not showing it and yes it is self-promoting, glad you recognize that fact. :0

In these forums though, isn't there a section for such facts and videos. To me that is where it belongs with a quick mention in here with a link. That would be my suggestion.

The way their game is set up gear sets definitely helped at one time but now they are pretty much essential. I for one do not believe any kind of YouTube video or any of that as they are edited, plus the fact unless your physically watching the person who knows what they are doing.

And don't forget that even when everything is fair and square and you're on a server free of cheaters (it does happen sometimes) you get the whiners that ANY gearset you are using at the time you beat them "sucks" or "is for pu--ies."

Since I tweaked my Nomad to well over 10k FA I've been faring quite well against rogues lately. The other day a Level 5 Manhunt rogue drops a healing box and stands in it, blasting me with his Striker while popping medkits constantly too, and I still downed him. Of course he goes on a chat rant about how "Nomad is for pu--ies" and "you suck," etc.

I point out he was using a gearset too, and a healer, and medkits, so that surely makes him the "p word" also. It was fair and within the rules defined by the game, and still he lost, so his logic of "You beat me so gearset XX is for babies" is just whining.
