the uplay box comes up after pushing the play button and just sits there spinning, the game is installed on an NVME drive
Hi peterpeter1987! Do you have Uplay and Ghost Recon Wildlands on the same drive?
nearly half a dozen "friends" of mine had the exact same problem over the months and were able to fix the problem with the following steps (i will quote from another post i found months ago) :
"To all those who have experienced crashing on boot, getting the EAC failed to Launch I have found a way to fix the problem after days of messing about!!
Step 1: Perform a Search in OS directory- looking for "EasyAnticheat" Find where 'EasyAntiCheat' is located in my case "C:\Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat" Delete the entire folder there and the ones in Users/AppData/Roaming there might also be one in Users/Admin/AppData/Roaming Delete it aswell Delete them.
Step 2: Navigate to Steam/steamapps/common/Wildlands - Delete the entire EasyAntiCheat folder there, following that Delete 'GRW.exe' and 'rungame.exe'
Step 3: Following on, you now want to perform a registry edit. Go to Start menu on Windows in the search box look for regedit, right click it run as Administrator.
Once regedit is open navigate through/ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\E asyAntiCheat once there right click that folder and delete it completly.
Step 4: Reboot Windows, Open Steam/Uplay 'Verify integrity of game files for Ghost recon Wildlands"
Step 5: Once thats done, Navigate back to " Steam/steamapps/common/Wildlands/EasyAntiCheat.exe - run it as Administrator scroll through the drop down menu look for "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands" Repair it, once Finished your good to go!"
hope that help, it worked for so many already
p.s.
"ADMIN" during step 1 might be your windows user name
its a uplay game for me as it was removed from steam post launch and i was impatient I will try it anyway thanks
yes there on the same drive but why should that matter, none of the other games care where they are installed, I have steam games on 3 different drives and they all work just fine, also I have an open case but obviously I dont matter to ubisoft
i should have mentioned :
it doesnt make a difference, if its a uplay game or a steam game, aslong as you remove all EAC (EasyAntiCheat) files, and registry entries.
then check your files through uplay (not steam), and reinstall EAC within the GRW folder.
this solved the problem for like 90% of the players i know.
and i also just noticed a typo in my text file, that contained the registry entry, formating might have been an issue.
so heres the whole text again, i`ll also correct the post above :

[EDIT] comon Ubisoft, i cant even spell EasyAntiCheat in step 3 without a space behind the "E" after reediting it, even though the reediting post shows me the correct formating.

"ADMIN" during step 1 might be your windows user name
p.p.s :
this forum server is propabyl running on a linux debian machine.
they are not capable of handeling a simple text file for over a decade. thats why i abandoned linux 8 years ago, after 4 years of spending 2 hours a week repairing the simplest issues, sry, i had to mention this, it reminded me of the "good" old day.
