I'm trying to figure out what I need to make Crossfire work. I've been looking at this mainboard from MSI ( K9A Platinum AM2 ATI CrossFire Radeon Xpress 3200 ). I downloaded the Manual for it and it says I will need a "Master" card and a "Crossfire Ready" card. So the thing is, I'm having a hard time finding a the card I want listed as a "Master" card. All I see is listed as "Ready". Does that mean it can be used as a Master? What I want is a X1950XTX. I'd like to get two of them or atleast the "Master" first and then a second one later.
Can any of you Crossfire gurus offer some advice?
Thanx

Your Right they are non existent now....very hard to find. You might want to keep your eye on Ebay, but make sure it is the Crossfire master x1950

An X1900 Crossfire Master card will work also with the X1950XT or XTX's. It will negate the GDDR4 memory down the GDDR3 of the X1900 series, but really not a big deal as far as performance goes imho. I have purchased a couple of X1900 Master Cards off of sellers on eBay over the last 6 to 8 months. You shouldn't have any problems finding one imo.

Thanx guys,
I'm at this point settled on the X1950XTX I think. I started out thinkin I'd get me a 2900 of some flavour but after seeing the threads on how they are performing I changed my mind on that. Also, I have been so impressed with the X1950pro(agp) that I have now there is a comfort level with the XTX version. The Crossfire aspect has sure been a confusing thing for me. Thanx for helping me on this.
So I guess I'll be getting a master card later if I still can when the funds have re-generated. Man this stuff is expensive! Sheeesh!
