[FEEDBACK] [SUGGESTION] Dear Ubisoft, please add new tabs to weaponsmith.
To help us view, modify, and select our weapons more easily I'd like to see some new tabs created for weapon classes.
Right now we have:
(1) All.
(2) Assault rifles.
(3) LMGs.
(4) SMGs.
(5) Sniper rifles.
(6) Shotguns.
(7) Crossbows.
Some of these are extremely large and unwieldy, especially for those of us who have picked up all weapons in the world and/or defeated many buchones and got their custom weapons and/or bought many other weapons from the store or won them in crates.
The "All" category can probably go even. Does anyone really use it? Would anyone really miss it?
At minimum I'd like to see three new weapon class tabs created.
(1) Battle rifles. These would be any weapons using fullpowered rifle cartridges (7.62x51) and possessing automatic fire. Right now this means the Mk 17 SCAR and the Mk 14 EBR and their custom variants "Nerd, "Tiger Fang", "Occult", and "Captain" for a total of six weapons, and you can use the category later if you ever feel like adding HK417, G3, FAL, things like that.
(2) Medium machine guns. As above these would be machine guns using fullpowered rifle cartridges (in this case 7.62x51 and also 7.62x54). That means the HK121, Mk 48, and PKP and their custom variants "Wasteland", "Reaper", and "El Baston" as well as the unique "Veteran" Bren Mk 1, a total of seven weapons.
(3) PDWs. These would be weapons currently in the SMG category that use cartridges that outperform traditional pistol rounds in muzzle energy, penetration, et cetera. This right now means the P90 (5.7x28), MP7 (4.6x30), and Knight's PDW. (6x35) and their custom variants "Doorkicker", "Murmillo", "Glory", "Cartel", and "Jaw", a total of eight weapons.
Also, as a sidenote, the Magpul PDR from Fallen Ghosts should really be transferred to the assault rifle tab, and its magazines should be fixed so that they register as 5.56 P mags.
I'm confident adding new tabs must be fairly easy to implement a la the crossbow. What might be more difficult but which could be done in addition to or instead of these new categories would be the creation of a "favourite" tab we can assign our most used weapons to and have that be the first tab disaplyed (instead of "all"). This favouriting system might be more effort to code, but it would make inventory management even easier.
As always I'd appreciate hearing from a CM that they've passed this suggestion on to the devs. It's not as vital as many other things for the September update, but if it could be squeezed in that'd be wonderful.
Thanks!
Ami
