Aramusha seriously needs a buff, as an Aramusha main (yes those still exist) I have a few ideas of making him more viable since I rarely see him used and I would love to see him in a better place (and by that I mean a better hero, not dead)
a) A really good buff for him which will make him more viable and unpredictable is to make it so that you can do your infinite chain from any guard, so instead of left, top, right it can go left, right, top, etc
b) Give him a good unblockable, yes the zone has an unblockable, however it is slow and easy to parry and yes you can get it from the full block stance, but I think its rubbish because it is easily parried and hard to get it and when you do you just deadly feint it as to not get parried or fully feint it for an OOS punish.
c) This isn't that "important", but I think it will help; give him a heavy dodge attack to counter more heroes bash attacks and such (Warden, Valkyrie, Warlord, etc) to make him more viable, the dodge attack shouldn't do much damage of course.
If he gets all of these buffs I am sure he will be somewhere between B and S tier and will be more viable than now.
Please give feedback, build on top of my suggestions or make new ones, I really want to see what other people think about my idea(s).
P.S If a, b and c [or (a and b) (a and c) (b and c)] gets added remove his rocksteady feat as to not make him too overpowered.
A.make it so that you can do your infinite chain from any guard. No. It would get even more complicate for the enemy to read them. It will just be aguess nonstop. Plus you allready can do this id you combine heavys (thats the idea)
B. I dont see the need but whatever grinds your gesr
C. No. Admitere every characters will work like another. Not unique anymore. Not every one should have a dodge attack.
If you really want something analize the char. What does he miss? Am oppener. Simplest solution make the first FIRST heavy, sift cancelable into light (any direction other than the one you allready are in and by the rules) that s portallyb the only thing he need to be on the same lvl as the rest.

This is what, in my opinion, should be done to make Aramusha an A tier character
I think that it's far more simple to make him viable.
1. Let him feint the chain finishers into heavies too, not just lights.
2. Make his top (and only the top) chain finisher heavies unblockable.
And something with the fullblock, half of the options are quite useless, the ring the bell doesn't worth it, and the side heavy is not that threatening to make it worth the risk of not getting guaranteed damage.
Give him superior block on side dodges similar to Kensei. Boom. Gives him a way to be defensive and counter attack without making him 100% vulnerable like his Blade Blockade.
Also just make the top heavy out of Blade Blockade do 5 more damage and be unblockable, and make the side heavy do 10 more damage and stay unblockable. This means that the risk/reward factor is much more healthy for using Blade Blockade as opposed to just parrying, since you already get a free top heavy off heavy parries and a side heavy and top light off a light parry. They need to make Blade Blockade a more worthwhile option in order to encourage its use. Make it a fearsome move that needs to be used sparingly but gives high rewards if he pulls it off since it makes him so vulnerable.
In exchange, remove the rock steady feat. This alone makes Aramusha a much less overbearing character. If anyone should have rock steady in its current form, it's Shugoki and ONLY Shugoki.
I posted an oppinion, you one.Originally Posted by RolandVermund Go to original post
My oppinion. Add a single tweak to make him viable in fights. That damn oppener and nothing else.
Your oppinion. Give him the ability to cancel a heavy into another heavy (by respecting aramushas rules of infinite chains, hell be 100 unpredictable. -op. Hes allready so easy and yet so hard to react to)
Second. Givr him top H unblockable "REALLY Thats why devs dont take us seriously. Instaid of making ara viable, you want to make him A TIER... take it down a little...
Anything lower than A tier is not viable, truth to be told.Originally Posted by Gemoroda Go to original post
What makes a character A tier? A consistent opener and viable mixups, people like Kensei or Gladiator for example.
True. But aramusha has all of them except for an oppener. If you think of it like "RL=Right Light and so on:RL (considering it lands, then the whole mixup comes from variating..)..LH, softfeint- TL, LH, softfeint, RL, RH, softfeint, TL ETC. Enemy constantly has to concentrate onto your next hit direction. But the only thing it needs is an oppener. Once he gets that (and in my oppinion the best opener would be the first heavy attack you do can be soft canceled into a light. If you think this is op, then the first side heavy to be canceled into a light as per aramushas rules of infinite combos. Basically make the oppener heavy act the same as an chain ending heavy) then aramusha vould be at least A tier and i strongly think that at this point the unblockable would be the second option in a aramusha arsenal.
Basically i see aramusha like the kind of char that chips your damage slowly.
Further more, if they make the heavy oppener act like a heavy finisher, they could allso reduce all damage output aramusha does, because his hit would be more likely to connect then ever.
Frankly no.
As an Aramusha main, I know what I am talking about when I say that his softfeints aren't practical. They don't force a reaction and the enemy can just sit back and block everything you do. Oh, and in high level play Ara's softfeints become basically parrybait.
He needs unblockable chain finishers to keep the opponent guessing and not just block forever. In the end, his concept is really good and has the potential to be one of the most dangerous heroes on the cast, but unfortunately his very concept is too minimal.
The reworked I posted earlier explains everything better.
"his concept is really good and has the potential to be one of the most dangerous heroes on the cast".
Well you said it yourself. Thats why he shouldnt get those... and only an oppener. Hes my second to go char and highlander is the 3rd. So yeah. I know you know what you talk about and so do i. And what i get from you is you want aramusha to be op. Im playing him 2 and trust me soft feints are really effective. Its just hard to get to that pard, because oppener............
