So, you get into a Solo survival match right? And then BS starts happening.
-Other players can pick up YOUR loot.
In a solo match. Really?! Who came up with this? Who actually set down, wrote this down on paper and decided to make it public thinking this is a great idea?
-Time
It takes longer to do than incursion, than actually going to the DZ, than doing a mission, it takes approx 1h to do with absolutely minimal reward. Who thought that this is a good idea? huh? Who thought that "let's pull the players legs and they will, of course, without any doubt replay this over and over again". Just fire that guy. Forever. No one is playing that damn mode solo more than 3-4 times.
-Glitching due to rogue agent
Not to speak of the fact that the rogue agent is a damn ninja from Metal Gear Solid but he also makes your screen glitch, drop your frame rates and shoots you down in just few hits even with purple gear.
->All that when you actually made it. You're there.
It wasn't enough that NPCs rush you during extraction. Noooo, let's also add rogue agents which glitches your game.
No part of this mode feels like survival
It's VERY embarrassing that a simple gamer understands the faults with the mode, because they are beyond self-evident but a game dev with more than 5 years of experience doesn't.
Seriously, fire the main dev of this DLC and hire someone with an actual skill. You'll get forum posts with "Thank you ubisoft!" instead of "wtf is this ubisoft?!".
And I legit don't understand it. The game is pretty "meh" but people still support it and you just kind of pi$$ in their cereal. Why?
I personally think its the best part of the game. Its survival of the fittest, yes, you are solo but you arent alone, just no teammates so it only makes sense that someone else also playing solo can steal your stuff to "survive". If this ruffles your feathers just give it another few weeks and the game mode will dead again and you dont have to worry about people stealing your stuff because there will only be 4 or 5 of you in there from the start!!
The Hunter does zap all of your skills, thats part of his lore, your magic doesn't work against him when you are disrupted. One of the things i see wrong is fighting him with purple gear, you need to get geared up with the most gold you can get and depending on your gear rolls you should be able adapt. If you have high skill with your rolls, then use offensive skills although i would say you should always have a turret equipped regardless of skill power. If you get alot of FA on your gear then if you construct a M44 sniper, the hunters are pretty much one shot kills. I killed 6 last night alone in one game.(thanks again to the guy who kept trying to drop his hunters on me)
The mode is challenging and i dont mean to make it sound as if it isnt, but thats the fun of it. We all agree that the rewards should be much better though for time spent.
Other players can pick up your loot; Yep. Ostensibly, you're tasked with protecting society. But you've just crawled out of a helicopter crash with an infection, and you see some antiobiotics fall out of a guy's pocket as he's shot by another agent. You're closer; why does that agent get to live and you don't? It's SURVIVAL of the fittest. Sometimes surviving means sending another to their death.
Time - Rewards are lacking, no argument there. But they always have been; I play survival for the fun of it, not for the rewards.
It's not a glitch, it's the hunter disrupting your electronics to put you at a disadvantage. They're agents - They have the same skills as you. Keep a good stand off distance, don't let them get close, hit them with grenades whenever you can - They're beatable, but you have to SURVIVE them - They're not meant to be easy. They go down with 2 headshots from an M44 if you've found the division tech to build one, and if you haven't found said divtech, you need to start finding it before trying to extract, or you'll die.
EVERY PART OF THIS MODE FEELS LIKE SURVIVAL. It's you against the world. You have to survive the bad guys. You have to survive the cold. You have to survive the illness, the lack of equipment, the disorientation of no GPS on the map and you generally have to survive in an extremely hostile environment.
I don't meant to be that guy, but all of your complaints are fairly easily addressed by taking to heart the old time game advice of 'Git gud'.
Survival the best part of the division, yes other players can steal your loot, the first time it happened to me i thought it funny , i just cleared a zone and another player just ran about collecting all the dropped loot, i died to the cold and in shock lol...after that i was more careful .. But to be honest it is survival , and you would do anything to survive...Originally Posted by Edwin_North Go to original post
Wow, sounds like you're a bad forum user. Im sure you were a pro since day 1 in survival though so its hard for you to understand someone who is having problems playing it. Most people have quit with the git gud type comments but i see some of you are still around. Much like Survival, the forum works as intended and most users have no issues not being that guy.Originally Posted by Garyfairbrass Go to original post
I do not know this for sure, but rumor was it was to be a PvP game mode, so all was fair game. Last minute to appease the PvE players, they added a PvE mode. This allows for those who like to grief and terrible at PvP can still grief others just for fun.
That glitch you speak of is near extractions is part of the effect of the Hunter and superiority over you. You can overcome it once you get used to it.
HE gear is better for fighting Hunters, but you can beat them with Purple gear, I have done it with all Blue gear. The worst the gear score, the smarter you have to be.
NPCs won't rush your extraction other then the Hunter, unless you or someone else agros them and brings them into the fight. Not sure if this is on you or another player, looking to stack the deck on you to get your stuff.
It is all about Survival. Illness, Food, Drinks, Meds, and Med-kits.
For the record, I play it at least 4 times a week sometimes more then that. To me it is the best part of the game and probably what the rest of the game should have been about, instead of the whole Rogue and the DZ.
Now here is a eye opener for you. Even Solo regardless of PvE or PvP, very likely you will face not only other Solo players, but Teams of players. To me it is easier Solo over Team, but that's because I think too many players think only of themselves, they don't care about others even when they are suppose to be a team.
Being a Survival diehard, I will also tell you no one. NO ONE plays Survival for Rewards. You get nothing for the experience for except for the experience of playing the best mode in the game.
As for people being fired, I'm not sure it needs to go that far. Problem is their vision and decisions made based on that vision, didn't account for the player base. Every thing in this game deserved upgrades, but Survival is the least of the concerns even in it's prime.
Survival isn't solo. Sure there are PVE and PVP variants but the PVE variant isn't intended or "advertised" as being a mode where you aren't competing with other players just not directly in combat.
The reward for the amount of effort and time involved are pretty rubbish - if I was playing it for that aspect then a 3 phase underground run is much better never mind legendary/heroic.
I have to say I've very mixed feelings about the mode though - I really want to play that kind of style more often but keeping the overall challenge while not feeling like I'm trying to beat an overall clock or having to be 110% in the mindset to bother with it - especially I think its a missed opportunity for a group exploration mode kind of like the underground sounds like it would be but isn't with one player acting in some kind of commander role with limited ability to discover things from above using some kind of UAV/drone.
(That isn't to say I think current survival should go or be modified itself - I'm just finding a gap between the rest of the content and survival I'd like to see filled).
