I have been a fan of the series since I was 3 years old when I was first introduced to the settlers, since then The Settlers 3 became my true love.
I love a good challenge and one of the ways I challenged my self was to make the starter island as efficient as possible.

Like the above, pretty sure I have the complete set, from the demo coverdisk on Amiga Format then got every version as soon as it came out (even having to shop abroad for S2 and the Mission CD as they were near impossible to find in UK shops, thanks Focus), including both the English version of 10th Anniversary and the German version too so I could get the expansion), packets of seeds and mini-figures are still safe. Then the GOG versions as well as modern computers caused problems with some of the originals.
What I would have loved to use as a screenshot was one of my "water worlds" in the original Settlers, used to spend hours with the seed generator trying to create these, and create a fantastic rapid transport system using the rowboats.
However, these are all on the Amiga and that's inaccessible at present, so instead here is something you just don't see today, a wonderful 135 page manual.
Settlers 1 had one of the best and most complete manuals I've ever had the privilege to own, every single aspect of the game covered in great detail, and still worth reading even today, 25 years on.
In the background of course is The Settlers Online, which has taken huge chunks of my time since 2011.
