While concept is interesting, and funny enough i bought my new pc only for this game, only not to buy it once i seen beta.... i got second chance on 4 Honor again, via free to play.
However, first few hours of game were really fun, and here i thought this game is changed, better, simpler and matchmaker is really good.
Told few friends about the game, played with them few games... and it all went fine. I even started to read guides and so on... but second day , matchmaker forced us aginst players who had so many tricks, spamimg same moves, fireswords, posion shananigans i dont even know where to start describing what was there.
Their equipment was much higher lvl, and while our was around 10-15, they had 60.
We got stomped in few games in row, with quiting ever so often only to get new players against us. Only to see same resault.
I will not waste my time on a game that cant give me a chance to play with my equal lvl of players, insted of beeing stomped by some bloodthirsti geeks who enjoy this matchup for fun.
I mean, in one game opponent team got in our base and killed us on spwan point. WTF lol
Hi Casey....
I would suggest you to stay for a while in PvE instead of jumping into PvP. Play against the bots for a while with your friends, I’m sure it will be fun and you will be able to level up and grind some equipment of higher level.
Reading tutorials and following a YouTuber will improve your game with practice, and then you can return to PvP.
It is normal from a game that has started one year ago that the level between players is different (but yes, matchmaking is not so fair and good unfortunately)
Regards
1. The game is all about learning how to handle certain situations (like: someone is spamming the same move at you; what can you do to punish that).
2. Choose any fighting game that comes to your mind ... the first few month will be hard - that's normal.
3. The Matchmaking System does a regression on your win/loss ratio and that takes several matches to get stable. It's normal to throw you (sometimes) against better players if you have a good win/loss ratio.
4. Playing against better players is a chance to get better at the game. Fighting against equal or lower skilled players won't help you at all to get better.
5. If it is still a problem for you or your friends ... than fighting games might be in general not your thing ... it's that simple.
Best wishes for you and your friends.
PS: Gear System will change with start of Marching Fire.
I think that if it's mainly a gear issue, you should level up your mains against bots, they are also good for beginner practice. If it's rather a skill issue, either play pve 4v4, or practice team fights in custom matches against each other. Dominion is mostly about how fast a team of x players can kill a single target, or how well they fare against an other team, but even an unskilled fighter is very useful if he/she sticks to objectives (staying alive in your own zones, capturing theirs, killing minions, kiting). Not all match is a pleasent experience, but every opposing team will have some flaw: gankers will leave their objectives unprotected, objective teams' members are sometimes left alone, full heavy team is slow, full assassin team doesn't have a good way to kill minions etc.
Ah, i might have raged a bit much.. sry guys!
I went to advanced tutorial, and watched some tips for warden. Now sometimes i can even parry, and i didnt know what else could have been done in fights. However i would point out that a tutorial is just horrible to play. It really shows you nothing. All things in advanced tutorial i passed somehow, only to go to the youtube and search for a moves to get them right... then go to bot fight and try them there. So tutorial is horrible, but it gives solid amount of steel.
Thanks for advice everyone i do appriciate.
Main problem was beside the gear, that they had this fireattack moves, and now i know how to pull them as well. So again, all good here. But sometimes i get in my games players with prestigue of 0, that use deflect all the time. Could this be smurf accounts made for stomping? I dunno how someone gets defflect so easily that fast.
Also when i get paired with high lvl of prestigue or equipment i simply leave the game...i dont like stomp, dont wanna play that kind of match... but still i do get somewhat ok matchups 3 out of 5 games. So that is good enough.
I do have question on a few things. If i keep my equipment on low lvl, will my matchmaking be based on that, or my prestigue lvl?
I played against centurion, and he litteraly stomped me like a bug. I got kicked 24/7, till he killed me. Is centurion that much of a power house? I kinda liked his combos.
I have saved up 15k steel, and wonder now should i buy him. I was thinking to learn 2 characters simultaneously. Warden while good, interesting, hard to master gets boring of only playing him. So is centurion solid pick? I dont think i will farm game to buy ever single characters in game. So 2 for me are good enough.
Also i downloaded game for free this weekend. And my choice where knights. So now when i wanna buy other knights it says 8000steel to recruit, but other factions it says unlock. Do i (if i pay 8000steel) get to play other characters or i have to unlock them and buy a game to get them?
Also what is warmap, what does it do, what does it mean when i put the flag down? It kinda stayed untold...
