I was attempting to complete a mission inside a building which entailed opening some sealed doors and fighting the enemy inside. I was using the drone but after a few times exploding I couldn't access the drone any longer and had to physically enter the building. What caused this?

No - I was playing the base game. I was wondering if there is a reason the drone became unavailable.

When you say exploding, you do mean the drone right?

It's just a bug, I think. Sometimes the drone is just temporarily unavailable. Also the binoculars, I think? It usually goes away if you fastravel or reload or something.

It's a bug. Fast travelling between areas restores the function.

I've encountered the bug a few times while "out in the field". Got it resolved by switching thru various game functions. Haven't yet had to FT, which I wanted to avoid.

Were you able to stay in the combat scenario or did you have to restart from the beginning?

What I recall was it didn't happen during any specific mission, but when free roaming. However if it was in a mission I definitely didn't restart. Got it fixed via various menu functions (suspending the game IOW, then back in).
