    Backpacks? O_o

So one of the iconic things about The Division was the fact that each agent carried a sling bag. Or sling backpack, whatever you want to call it. Today I watched the Gamescon trailer and was a bit disappointed to see all agents carrying regular backpacks with two shoulder straps. Don't recall what the situation looked like in the reveal trailer, but I was disappointed to see this.

Yes, I know it's a minor, cosmetic thing, but it was something that I came to associate with The Division... I really hope this was just a slip-up and that we'll be back to the sling bags in the final version

There will be one strap backpacks... But if you are developer you can enjoy backpack with 500 items in cheat-falseGOD-mode.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed in the change too, because as you said the sling-bags were pretty iconic.

I can't remember where I saw it (or read) it, but I'm pretty sure it was justified somewhere as being along the lines that the Agents in Division 2 are not going to be newly activated folk, in that as the outbreak is like 7 months in or whatever, so they will have naturally gravitated toward equipping themselves with bags, gear and equipment that are better suited to carrying useful stuff long-distance and for sustained field scenarios. Not to mention carrying about 4 weapons now, including the Signature. As opposed to an agent in that might just need a few supplies ammo and some SHD tech carried across NY.

I interpreted that to mean Agents in Div 2 aren't "DC" agents, like we were NY agents in Div 1. I guess at this point, since the outbreak has spread beyond NY and over the rest of the US, Division Agents are just Division Agents. There's probably not enough of us around to have a major presence in every city and state. They might be asked at anytime to move to a different city or a different state to "protect what remains" and the old Sling Back with a water bottle wouldn't cut the mustard anymore.

I guess... it sounds like a reasonable explanation. But I'd still prefer to see them carrying the sling bags with the assumption that these are just the basic items and the rest is somewhere in a stash nearby... oh, well. I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it
