Phantoms Mode, yes?
This is for the idea for a year 2 content update
One of the ideas I had for Ghost Recon Wildlands was anintroduction to a new gamemode which is in reference to another Ghost Recon game that use to be around, Phantom Mode. Four years ago, there was a gameknown as Ghost Recon Online, which was then renamed, Ghost Recon: Phantoms, which pitched two teams against each other in Control gamemodes (Capture The Falland Control Point). It was a really nice change of pace, unfortunately the gamewas shutdown in 2016 for not retaining enough players. The title of the newmode comes from this and the concept isn’t old and would give player’s lookingto a PvP without the confines of a PvP map. Just like in the first Watch Dogsgame, you have the option of opting out. For those interest, to mix it up,probably a great way of doing so. Clearly not for Ghost Mode, cause that wouldbe the worst. Now, to the actual explanation:
In Phantom mode, a player or a squad of players can invadesomeone’s game. In the invaded player’s game, you are a Phantom, similar to aGhost Operator, but you are a Gun-For-Hire. Equipped with the same type of gearand weapons as a ghost would. You would have the same free range as the ghostsas a phantom. As a ghost, if you spot the phantom, he becomes marked for 60seconds, allowing you and your squad to track and take out the phantom, but youshould let your guard down as the hunter can become the hunted. And as aPhantom, everyone is an enemy, Rebels, Unidad, and Cartel. Phantoms have accessto two special tools while invading another player, using 2 mechanics fromFallen Ghost DLC, Cloak and the Jammer. You can only have one equipped at atime and is fixed until you either taken out the squad or you get taken out. Whileusing the Cloak, you are invisible by normal and night-vision, but plain as daywith thermals; In addition, you are cloaked for 5 minutes, allowing for you tomove to either a vantage point or to escape when you have been spotted, removing the spotted indicator from Ghosts’ HUD. You may fire with the cloak, however like any active camouflage, you will become visible for a brief moment, allowing another ghost to get a shot on you. The Jammer is similar to that usedin Fallen Ghosts DLC, causing HUD to become disoriented and preventing ghostsfrom using their drones, just to change it up, your minimap disappears and youcannot call for any form of support with the tactical wheel. Duration of theJammer is 5 minutes, but is ranged. To make it fair, players with helicopterswith lock-on missiles will not lock-on player controlled vehicles by eitherside. If the Phantoms are successful in eliminating the Ghosts, XP and some resources, and vis versa with the Ghosts if they take out the Phantoms. Any other rewardswould be based on what the Devs would have for that.
In all honesty, In Watch Dogs, I liked the Invasion System,it was refreshing and since I still play every now and again, still is. ThatLock-on Missile with Player
