Hello,
it is well known for a while now, but deflect doesn't work properly. Freeze did an excellent video on that subject (link at the end)
Long story short, side deflects are harder than top deflects because you have I-frames on side dodges which supercede deflect/superior block dodge frames.
Essentially on a forward dodge you've got 3-5 deflect frames, on side dodges you have only 1.
I don't know if it's intended but it doesn't make any sense imho.
But it's not the funniest thing actually:
Undodgeable atk are easier to deflect with that bug because when you dodge, you get invincibility frames, and If you try to deflect an attack while you have I-frames active, you simply dodge. To land the deflect you have to deflect it at a point in the dodge that doesn't have active I-frames. The windows is very very tight.
Undodgeable attacks ignore the I-frames, which means you can actually make use of your full deflect window.
This is a very bad design imho...and when I think about Orochi which has moves around deflects (follow-up atks, unblockable Hurricane Blast...) it's laughable
I remember during the alpha Orochi could deflect instead of dodging, so it could explain why he can access to his specific movesets from deflects.
But now the game has evolved, and in this current state those mechanics are sidelined and kinda useless.
Can we expect a change soon please ?

Not to mention that devs nerfed deflects once more by limiting dodge direction to straight forward, left and right.
Because of that, external deflects are basically not (consistently) possible anymore, unless the attack comes exactly from the correct angle at ya - Thx devs.
E1seNw0Lf is refering to the weird thing that is conqueror's zone mentioned in the video I guess
And as far as I understand it deflecting undodgable attacks easier isn't a bug. It just bypasses the issue we have with side attacks and dodgeproperties. I think you cannot talk about a bug here in general it is more as you stated bad design from our point of view. I also suggested that sb should put this finding of freeze as a request on the Warrior's Den's Q&A thread on reddit.
Would be nice to have it more consistent.
I have to admit that my title is a clickbait actually, I'm well aware it's not a bug, but youy know...CLICKBAITOriginally Posted by Klingentaenz3r Go to original post![]()
For the second part, I'm not sure to understand, whos "sb" ? That being said, yeah you're right, if it's asked during Warrior's Den's Q&A we can expect a fix ! Do you have the link ?

This is why they are inconsistent.
You did nicely in not reading OP postOriginally Posted by Hubjump Go to original postGJ!
