Kudos for trying to help the community by trying to find a solution.

I feel sorry for XB1 owners trying to find a way to duplicate the solutions others on PC and PS4 are utilizing to work around the permadeath restriction. Hopefully Ubi will find a way to make the new game mode more enjoyable for all so we won't have to worry about backing up saves, etc. ....or by porting over the new features to the main game as an alternative. I have a feeling they will address this in the O&M update in Sept.

I have to say that since I've been using the upload/download feature on PS4, GM has actually been a fun experience.

I don't get it. What does GM bring aside from Permadeath?

To me, it's the same game. Only that, I have the benefit of 100's hrs experience playing the normal game. I'm more deliberate about how I play. The Hotfix (I don't have yet) adds 50%> resource gathering. I'm still on my 4th character. My third, should've already supplied me the gold shade, achieved in the first week. Didn't. -- So here I am, verging on T1 again. Then have to wonder, what's next?

Sounds like it's time to move on to another game then, since there's nothing left for you in this one. Since you have 100% with all the achievements, awards, and badges you can get (like me). I just help my Task Force members or friends with their progress instead. Lot's of people who need helping all the time. Pay it forward, and help out when you have nothing left to do. Go on Discord and LFG I always find new players to help get going in the game. Great satisfaction with doing that. If you like helping out people other than posting here.
Of course you can always keep busy posting here too all day , but I would rather be playing than posting.

You're jumping to a lot of conclusions in your reply man. I only post when taking a break between bouts. If I wasn't happy with the game. I wouldn't have done as much as I have.

That's not the point of my post though. The point was, if you're circumventing the permadeath, then wtf are you playing it for!? -- Not making a big issue about it now though. I understand the glitches make reasonable levels of play unpredictable..

Strange that I've lost 4 characters to GM, falling through the floor, but haven't had a single problem since playing without internet.

Given I've had months where I haven't even been able to access the game. I want to assure you I'm far from bored, and very unlikely to be going, anywhere.
