Mmmm ... a classic illustration of the old principle that "If you have a fire control system that can take out a cruiser at 20000 yards (which the Sydney did in the Med to an Italian cruiser) don't close to 1000 yards with a 10000 ton suspicious (and prospectively heavily armed) merchants ... especially if you're in a 7500 ton light cruiser"
