Seriously, after that mess, any complaints I had about GRW seemed trivial by comparison.
The AI is certainly lacking in some areas in GRW and (IMO) Tier One only served to highlight these flaws. .....just as Ghost Mode shined a spotlight once again on long standing glitches, bugs and quirks in the gameplay.
Spot on Kean, it ain't FC5!!Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
For a game (GRW) which was designed around co-op, the solo playing isn't bad at all, and that includes with the AI team.
However I truly miss the design of the original GR and R6. The ability to give specific orders to your squads ... as mentioned previously.
While I don't expect them to overhaul the squad commands, I certainly wish they tweak their behaviour
1. Target acquisition while firing from vehicles - they are practically blind
2. Ability to initiate Sync Shot from within a vehicle
3. When giving the Fire command simply tell them to open fire while HOLDING position instead of running around
The above changes alone would solve a LOT of headaches for me personally.
Someone mention it here or on another thread, and although I can laugh about it now, at the time it was happening I wanted to grabbed whomever designed the ai mechanics by the neck. I am talking about after breaching with your team on a rebel support mission and givinf the order to fire... your teammates would abandon you faster than in a hurry and you would find yourself bleeding on the floor with the added lead weight.
As Kean also said... it would be funny if it wasn't so true. And yet, nothing is done about, they keep bring cosmetic crap after cosmetic crap while patting themselves in the back feeling proud of what they have accomplished.
I am sad, yes! 😂 ... Kean, who said that in Far Cry (challenge accepted?) 😎
Well who knows. There is always hope and I know the Devs read and discussed the report on the AI that I sent in.
Some of the newer guys here might not have seen this link http://www.ghostrecon.net/all-news/w...lands-team-ai/ which is Rocky's web version of the report I submitted - one of many over the last 3 years, but about the only one not under NDA.
....I dunno. You got me on that one GMT.Originally Posted by GiveMeTactical Go to original post

Very interesting indeed. Not surprisingly, hadn't come across it previously.Originally Posted by AI BLUEFOX Go to original post
Cheers, kean. Very much a community effort as I took a lot of the comments and suggestions from a lot of forum goers like yourself to summarise. I was going to add a comprehensive reference, but it turned into so much work to do that properly. I made sure to make it clear that it was community inspired feedback, but they'd have known that anyway from the work the CMs do.Originally Posted by Kean_1 Go to original post
I'd certainly go along with some tweeting; especially #3.Originally Posted by shobhit7777777 Go to original post
Regarding #1, #2 and the previously referenced short videos (hope this isn't boring) - given what in theory is the mission of the team, I'd prefer not to make the team any more noticeable by engaging while on the open road, unless it's in self-defense (so indeed #1 makes a whole lot of sense). Those spawning UNIDAD patrols come to mind.
The scenario where the SBC are harassing civilians on the side of the road, and have resources ... I'm moving the vehicle off the road a bit (on the same side if possible), getting out and from cover sync shooting if multiple SBC. Have the team hold, and then go grab the resources, ever on the lookout for possible spawning trouble roadside. Then back to the vehicle.
I recall clearly the first time I stood on the side of the road, still in civilian clothes (i.e. role playing), thinking what should be my next move, when UNIDAD spawned. Lesson learned!!
Again, yes indeed some AI tweaking would certainly go a long way.
