I have my Squad upgraded as high as they can go, but they still take 20 or 30 shots on an enemy AI soldier to kill them whereas the Rebels that are also fully upgraded seem to be able to walk into town and take on half the Santa Blanca cartel on their own. This is true in vehicles or on their own, so what gives?
Earlier today I was in a Blackhawk helicopter with mini guns on the side and even though the AI squad member was hitting a standard Santa Blanca gunman and blood was flying everywhere, it took a good 30 seconds of constant fire for him to go down...!
I am on Extreme difficulty within Tier 1 mode admittedly, but there’s no excuse for my Special forces team to be so crap!
I’ve noticed too that, compared to the main Campaign (although I’ve barely touched it since the SO2 update, so it could very well have been the SO2 update across the board), the team seems much less effective on Ghost Mode.
Fully upgraded, my team never died even when fully engaged, and given time, would clear out a whole Unidad base.
Now, though, a single gunner will decimate my whole team. It’s crazy. It’d be fine in terms of the game being more tactical, but you really can’t order them around with any amount of depth.

"Special" Forces indeed.
I made that thread because I was tired of this blinding idiocity on my AI teammate's part. It's bad enough they are going full auto...it takes ages for them to acquire the target and then kill them blowing the element of surprise.
How many game updates/patches have there been since April?Originally Posted by shobhit7777777 Go to original post
Got the game in June, so assume that was loaded with TU14, since TU15 (season 2?) came in late July.
On my PC the game folder currently states 63.8GB. Most of that is indeed game code ...Originally Posted by Hermeshidayat Go to original post
Don't recall exactly. But the issues highlighted in the thread have not been addressed yet. Not to my knowledge anyway.Originally Posted by MikeWeeks Go to original post
The issues raised, at this stage in the game's "life" I don't see Ubisoft addressing.Originally Posted by shobhit7777777 Go to original post
My pet pee, and I knew this when getting the game (why I waited), was that the scenario as laid out just doesn't make any sense. You're not part of any Delta/Special Forces team (i.e. "the best"), but just recruits dropped off in-country without any special skills (nor the equipment). So you go about acquiring those skills & equipment, while all the time attempting not to be noticed.
So far, with the benefit of all the posts generated (including the one referenced), the AI team for me is working just fine. I understand (mostly) what they can do, and what they can't. It's how the game was designed, so tactics are tailored (well attempted, more or less) accordingly.
It truly would be great in the game if one could go unnoticed until you either pulled out a weapon and/or actually fired one. That wearing military gear versus civilian clothes for example actually made a difference.
The squadmates' AI cracks me up in this game. Practically every time I have to clear one of those antenna buildings for rebel skill upgrades, the same thing happens: I order them to form up in front of the door, I breach, order them inside, once they're there I give the order to fire at will... aaaand I see all three running outside single-file, because they spotted some sicario 2 clicks away that they absolutely, positively have to take out right at that very moment. And Nomad is standing there like an idiot, wondering whiskey tango foxtrot just happened, watching his team disappearing into the sunset at a brisk trot, just before a bullet gives him insight into what's really going on in his head...
I know that I am going to catch flak from the peanut gallery for this but... Single Player Campaign, while even fun, was just an after thought that they needed to check in order to satisfy some sort of rule or regulation before selling the product. It shows it clearly but every UBI finger licking guzzler wants to make a good excuse as to why that is correctly done.Originally Posted by HighwaymanEd Go to original post
Personally, I don't understand why I must upgrade me or my squad if I am supposed to be the biggest and most meanest mofo in the world, then again, I do understand the masses and casuals most be taken by the hand and told when to shoot and when to pause the game because it is time to go to the bathroom or eat... God forbid they would be left to their own devices!
Then, they go claiming this is the best GR experience you will have and give you the most simple and minimalist option to command your team when the meat and potatos of Ghost Recon was the commanding of your squads (plural)... here you can not even command 3 flower pots that most accompany you to shoot through walls and hills or know where the enemy is w/o having line of sight. But hey, do not fret, the game is beautiful and fun to boot so it must be done right.Originally Posted by Ringwraith5 Go to original post
At any rate, the game was made to show how much the Paris Studio is awesome at making the biggest and most beautiful open world you have even seen in a game... the rest of it not so much.
But seriously though... I don't know how long it would take for them to put in place all of the good feedback it has been given by most here, even if it was just little pieces here and there, the game would be night and day by now. On the other hand, fixing that mechanic gameplay of the game is not going to be profitable so I am not expecting any miracles any time soon but it is fun to discuss it... even though it is getting a bit long in the tooth rehashing the same thing for Y4
