If down means KIA, yes, your save is deleted.

When I say down, I mean that I can still be revived, just to clarify.

I've lost a character because I exited while waiting to be revived. (Xbox one)

Sorry to hear that, TreFacTor. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to restore your character on Xbox One if you lose it in that particular way. I was referring to PC only.

Just lost a tier 24 character to a bush somehow. Instead of the copter just losing its propellers, the copter blew up...I think I'm done after this one.

So my Tier 47 Ghost just got smacked on the head with a helicopter, while jumping out of it. Amd now I'm kind of torn... on the one hand, I needed a change (going for the VSN this time), on the other, not sure if I want to run throu all the buchons again... plus earning Prestige through Tier levels was much faster.

Now I'm wondering if I should restore him or not... but for now, I'll start a new guy

so to all,the Ubi employees who may be on this forum addressing these issues, can you inform us if there’s anything that can be done about recovering this character and it’s progress?

i certainly hope you had the foresight and common sense to enable such a possibility, because that’s a LOT of time to lose to such a ridiculous developer error.

    thanks.
I am sorry for the frustrating loss of your character, but there is nothing that can be done on our end. Permadeath means the save is permanently gone.

All I can say is that we've been seeing people mention their concerns with map issues (and bugs in general) when it comes to Ghost Mode, and we've made sure to reinforce this point to the team.

I really wish they'd turn off the filter for "bad" words here. We play a game where everyone is constantly swearing, it seems ridiculous to asterisk out certain words here, some of which are quite mild even. What's the big deal about a colloquialism for having a godsdamned orgasm FFS?

Obviously I'll be the first to step up and rail against abuse and hatespeech and such, but if you're using "bad" words in a benign context it shouldn't be censored. And like 99% of what gets censored is people just chatting like normal human beings, not swearing at each other or raging about something or bullying each other.

I mean, I guess it's kinda funny when you discover something random getting blocked as you just did. I had a little laugh when the system censored "gang banger" if written as one word ("********er") in a post of mine about getting into the undercover aspect of being an SB thug in Narco Road.

But really it mostly just comes off as kinda puritanical and sad. ((((

EDIT: So, hah, wait, they censor "*******" but not "orgasm"? Lel.

I feel ya, and I’m not complaining, but I kind of am, however with good reason rather than erroneously.

Look, I get that map seam issues are something that will almost never be completely solved 100%, I’ve done enough dev in my life to comprehend this.

HOWEVER, there is a LOT of time that goes into this game mode by players, and to not have some kind of “contest my death” method to be reviewed... or SOME kind of recourse when someone has 50 or more hours out into this mode and their character is lost due to a developer oversight or error...

That’s, as an analogy, akin to buying a new but faulty car and the manufacturer says “f-you” when tons of people die due to the manufacturers oversight. Or a better analogy, them flat-out refusing to address/fix the issue and make it right.

What you’re seeing is people quitting not only the game mode, but also the entire game because this kind of stuff is ABSOLUTELY FRUSTRATING to the point of pissing people off. And THAT isn’t good, especially in a time where there are so many games out there where the development companies actually DO make things right and cater to their playerbase.

Look, I’m not quitting, I’m old-school I like a challenge and I’ve been a Clancy/Ghost Recon devotee since the first GR release, but players like me are rare these days. Game dev & especially playerbase loyalty is an ADHD world now and players will bail on a franchise over something so little as a fart.

I wonder why your devs, with all your could have been game-changing & trend driving titles (especially Division) refuse to take this kind of thing into account, ESPECIALLY ON GRIND-INTENSIVE games where you absolutely need to show players you’re dedicated to them being dedicated to your games.

Cater to the players even just a little tiny bit (especially when they’re in the right) and you’ll see devotee numbers fly through the roof and respect/admiration for the franchises come back.

You guys make INSANELY AWESOME games, but it’s the details which kill your user base and force the titles flushed down the terlet.

    whoa!
this happened to me last night. I was out of thoughts when I did some skyrimshts. Y'know, the walking along side of cliffs or persisting to climb cliffs.
then it happened. Nomad fell into the underworld ...
Luckily, the parachute prompts. As he glides, immediately fast travels.
Though my character is in level 10, so, not that hard feelings if it's gone.
But, thanks for the backup saving tip.

Guys, don't give up just because this happens. Lost 4 characters so far and 76hrs of my time. The most recent, the Rebel ambush saving Bowman (T7). The rest fell through the map.

If you like the permadeath idea, then I say do your best to ignore these bugs and don't let it ruin your desire to win. Don't let it drag you down. Even without GM these bugs are a global problem with the game.

Power to ya, if you decide GM is a waste of time, but if you like it, just keep going. -- If you can make a character that survives Ghost Recon Wonkylands, until the devs fix it. Then you really did win, no matter what happens after that!

It's kind of pointless playing ghost mode in general, I've unlocked all the EXO-suit parts but the helmet and boots are still locked. It's a stupid reason but that's why i played ghost mode, to unlock the suit, even got the level 30 skin unlocked but it's also still locked. I grinded through tier mode once and I'm not even contemplating trying it again especially with permadeath. I died once to getting stuck in a small pothole and spotted by unidad which flew right over me and i was unable to go prone. I just died my second time today but it was my fault, i was playing way to casual but that's because since I've already unlocked what i want but they are staying locked there's no point playing it again.

Couple this with the fact that all my keybindings and audio settings keep getting reset everyday, I keep having to scroll down massive lists to get rid of the annoying red New icons, plus my utter disdain for micro-transactions of any sort in a full price game. I've played this since launch, I've loved parts of the game and like many others can see the ridiculous potential this game has, but overall I've just been disappointed since launch, every problem has been "brought to the attention of the devs, which is supposed to mean they'll fix it but here it just means they will put our highest requested features behind a paywall (want knife in main campaign, nope, not unless you buy a season pass or predator pack) or the least requested features because again they can make money off extra transactions in a full priced game (who really truly wanted emotes or voice lines or victory poses? they put it in to paid loot boxes with crap you don't want so you'll buy more for the crap you do want). I will never buy a game that has a service based model again or one that has micro-transactions if fully priced. All they will be is a money pit to nowhere. As it stands if you see me on in game it's literally just until something decent single player comes out on PC. I hate forced co-op, I'm an introvert and I play games to get away from people, not socialize, not to say i hate everyone, I have met and gamed with lots of cool nice people, but there is also a lot of really toxic nasty people.
