Add a point-giving volume, and we'll create our own game modes :).
The following is a method of giving players more control over new gametypes, and relieving the stress on the development and PR teams of Ubisoft, pertaining to dealing with people asking for new gametypes. I believe that if you simply add a points modifier object, map creators could invent new and fun ways to play.
-------------------------x
Add a new game mode simply called Arcade (or add them to Team Deathmatch). Ceate 1 to 3 variants of a points-adding object, which would award the player a value of points from 1-5, set within its properties. The volume or interactable object would have a cool down period where they cannot be interacted with, and the pickup would have a respawn timer like any other pick up.
- (Interactive) Gives the player # points upon activation.
- (Volume) Gives the player # points when entered.
- (Collectible) Gives the player # points when picked up. If the Volume is possible to be added, the Collectible could be ignored and we would simply use Volumes.
Volume Usage Examples:
The maximum round score is 35 points. Each volume gives the player one point, with a cool down of 30 seconds. The teams are given vehicles or on foot, and the first person to enter any volume checkpoint receives a point for their team. An entire lap takes at least 30 seconds so by the time the player gets around the track they can start hitting those checkpoints again.
If it is not possible for Volumes to detect which team a player is on, the map Creator may add more to the map for people to find like a scavenger hunt. Standard Deathmatch rules apply, and players could simply ignore the volumes and go for the kills.
------------------
Capture the Flag, plant the bomb, domination, Point capture, etc..
Place the volume in a tower, structure, or someplace deep in enemy territory where players simply need to get to and activate. They would have a cool down time, giving the owners time to fight back, or one in the center that is being contested from everyone. As it is a volume that can be passed through, you can put it off of a cliff or in a hole, or down a one-way hallway where players have to take the long route to get there but it's a short route to get back.
Map creators may use the slow-injury kill box to prevent people from camping within the volume area, making a strategy of entering to score the point and then running away.
