    Exotic damage resistance usefulness

I've been experimenting digging out my old classy final measure, and loading as much edr as I can upto 78% in the hope it'll be a rogue killing machine being 99% of people will be house/showstopper users. Tested it on a few eager rogues, had mixed results, not the edr protected slayer I thought I'd be. Hoping some of the more knowledgeable players on this forum could explain if it is how I think it sounds it should work, 78% protection from an exotic weapon ?

Exotic damage, as in explosions, fire, shock. Armor is the only weapon damage mitigation stat in the game.

Doh ! After nearly 2 years playing this game I thought it meant exotic weapons resilience. It worked better than I thought then, being I thought I had a lot of protection from the house ect. Thanks for clearing that up merphee 👍

What I find annoying is stuff like those various disruptions - in the odd times you could really do with it they seem to have hardwired the NPCs or events to bypass the normal game mechanics or atleast have levels of offensive ewar/exotic damage or resistances to it, etc. that are significantly higher than normal making what is achievable through the game mechanics ineffective.

Those Various disruptions is what spoils underground , flashbang , disruptors , low visibility , They go to far with the smoke and mirrors in the game .. I think they sit and think what would be the most annoying thing we can put in the game ..

Lol at least you know now. Just imagine how broken game would be if it worked that way. Everyone would be tank gods.

Back to the drawing board then, got a few ideas, but prob just stick with the trusty (ISH) nomad especially when they sort the striker out 🤗

If they use the word Exotic you might think it is about the weapons for sure. Besides that all other 'exotic' damage isn't very exotic when you are spammed with grenades, mortars, flame throwers and what not thru out the whole game. And saying that people would become tanks is very simply nor true. I never use exotic weapons when going into DZ or other PVP area. There are much better non-exotic weapons to use that actually have useful talents.
