I've figured out the mysterious white dot.

    [This isn't anything too serious]

So if you haven't noticed, there is a fairly sized white dot on the map that you cannot miss.

With not much else to do with the game, I decided to investigate the white dot once more.

Before continuing, the white dot has been there since the beta. There was even a puddle near the dot that when stood in, would light you on fire. That puddle is no longer in the game, so some update removed the puddle but the dot was left. Strange. Got an old pic of that.

There were even times where the white dot would twinkle gold, but I'm sure there are requirements needed in order to make that happen.

Anyways, I proceeded over there. I did what I would normally do: shoot the tires of the trailer, run to the subway underground, throw grenades. However, there was something that caught my eye. It happened fairly quick, I barely saw it, and I had no idea what triggered it: it was a... puff of smoke. (Wasn't worth getting a picture of because the smoke is somewhat difficult to see in a still image.)

No, not because I shot the tires. The smoke spawned after I had shot the tires. I thought to myself "I am not going to miss it again" so I sat there scoped in, stared at the tire and waited for a good 5-6 minutes to see if the smoke would spawn again. ...nope.

I walked around, trying out different methods to see if I could spawn the smoke again. That's when I randomly got on top of the nearby hotdog stand. For some odd reason, getting on top of that at a certain angle activated either a small smoke puff or a somewhat medium sized puff.

    It was strange.

Then I tried out what I had not before: skills. Boy oh boy.

TL;DR - The white dot, or whatever is located within the tire, is some sort of effect trigger left in by the devs. Check this out:

Skills like pulse and mobile shield didn't show any weird color augmentation like the support station and mobile cover did. The turret was a greenish color, sometimes, blue, but I couldn't snap a picture of it. The colors made me think of the Broadway Emporium easter egg, but I was likely reaching. However, I'd just like to say... IS THERE NOTHING ELSE MORE TO THAT EASTER EGG?

The best part about the trigger was the smart cover.

If you were to aim smart cover and then cancel, the same exact visual & sound effect as if you were to destroy smart cover at-will ...will spawn where the trigger is placed. With the sticky bomb, if you were to follow the same steps as with the smart cover, you will get the sticky bomb's *beep* noise. The proximity of this trigger is huge. I walked further down south of Broadway (near the intersection of Broadway and East 23nd street) and was still able to trigger the smart cover effect.

And, jumping off that, if you were to aim heal, smart cover, or the sticky bomb to where you get the "invalid target" message, the respective visual ground augmentation will snap to the trigger.

Again, nothing too serious and I was bored, but the mystery of the mysterious white dot has been solved... I guess. Go try it out yourself, because it would be better for you to experience it rather than read about.

Edit: also, that snow pile is floating, mr / ms environmental artist.

Lol, I could never find the time to do this or investigate a dot on the map.
But I’m glad someone does and finds these oddities

Near where you start Dragons Nest when you fast travel to it, down the side street on the left, there's a car. If you shoot one of it's tires, the hub caps bounce up into the windows. If you shoot the other tyre, the hub caps bounce into the air and float above the car. If you go to the curb side and shoot the tires they come back down.

I know for atlease a few months after the game came out the dot would show me the name of someone on my friends list as if they were there in the game. But it would ALWAYS be a friend that didnt own The Division, almost like the devs were trying to say those people were dead to them because they didnt buy the game. I was lauaghing so hard the first time it showed my friends name there like he was a dead body of the back of that tractor trailer is a body bag.

I've heard people were getting "sucked" towards the dot after doing the old ladder glitch. Apparently it has some sort of black hole effect.
