    Game Modes! (Seriously...it's important Ubi)

TL;DR: We need a simple game mode editor to bring this game back to life.

This has been talked about again and again, but I've never seen a reply from ubisoft one way or another about it. This is seriously the number 1 most needed feature for this games longevity. The community is falling fast, and many won't return past the last DLC (which isn't looking too hot, even before 2/3 of the community has tried it). The only thing that's going to save the online of this game is embracing user creativity and letting us make some crazy and unique game modes.

I actually think that there's a decent chance that a new game mode will happen. The problem is that I think there's a very high chance that it will be a huge disappointment, and that will be the final nail in the coffin for Far Cry Arcade. Please don't let this be the case, because I don't think that many will be boarding the hype train once the announcement for Far Cry 6 hits.

The quick fix is to add territories or a similar symmetrical game mode that any of us can play on any other online shooter. I know that many are requesting exactly this thinking it will add what's missing, but I guarantee that it will cause a short one week surge, followed by a drastic fall off of players when we realize that it's just not interesting enough to stick around for.

So what I am suggesting instead of one game type that will never satisfy enough people to be worth the time, is some simple additions to the editor to allow us to make our own game modes. Nothing too complicated or advanced, because the framework for this is actually already in the map editor! If you've made a map or two, you probably know what I mean by this. Each team is separately customization all the way down to their gear and modifiers. All that's needed is few blank objectives for each team.

Examples of Objectives: (can be set for either team 1, team 2, or both)
Bring select object from point A to point B. (capture the flag variants, plant the bomb)
Interact with object(s) for set time. (assault, spy vs merc)
Stand in area for set time. (territories, king of the hill)
Kills convert player to team. (infection, zombies)
    Get to objective. (race, escape)

Mix this feature with a few new modifier settings and soon people will be coming up with game modes that non of us can even think of yet.

    Examples of New Modifiers:
    Health adjustment/invulnerable
    Damage adjustment
    Headshot damage/immunity
    Run speed
    No jump

Pretty simple stuff really. And with these, old game modes like Predator (Far Cry Instincts) and Spy vs Merc (Splinter Cell) would be brought back to life. I think that even the most bitter of past Ubi fans would flock back to the game to play these types of modes.

This is my last ditch effort to reach out to a game company that has made some of my favorite multiplayer experiences in the past. I would really love to see an Ubi reply confirming either way what's being done with the multiplayer at this point, even if it's just the honest truth that we're not getting any game modes at all.

This turned into a much longer post than intended, but thanks for reading everyone.

    Hi DrShakez

I fully agree with you!! I know for fact that mány FC5 players see this the same way, but they don’t bother replying on anything on this forum. But this is a widely supported feeling/opinion by many.

I am itching to convert my maps to any new gamemode Ubi will through at me. New modes will mix up any map and forces mapmakers to rethink everything.

If all these game changes for FC5 are as simple as you picture it in your post I highly doubt.

But I really really hope that the game will get this second life. Because the Arcade editor is so full of content and possibility, it would be a heart-breaking crime if I would die because of lack player base (which is result of weak PvP modes support).

So come on fellow FC5 gamers! Give this post some proper support/likes!
Ubisoft will probably read this post but it needs some extra backing.

I always loved CTF mode but with no respawning vehicles I feel a lot of fun would be lost on bigger maps so a priority for me would be Domination.

They made that mode horrible in Far Cry 3 because it ran until the timer finished so a team massively dominating often found players on the other team leaving so some changes are needed.Like how this plays in Destiny the more team mates that get into a capture area the faster you capture it - the flip side is a well placed grenade or rocket would get a multi kill if those players are hit in a group while capturing.

It would be better if we could list the number of captures required to win so when that number is achieved the map ends even if it hasn't been playing long that way a team dominating gets a reward and the losing team don't have to suffer the humiliation for the whole match time.

A modifier to this mode would be superb so if we can place just One Station that would allow us to create a King Of The Hill type scenario where both teams are fighting to capture just the one station.

Also if we could have a maximum of up to 5 stations with the Default required been 3 that way we can have the players move around on the map more and an option to switch this to intermittent where instead of all stations been active at once we can set to just one or two and have them randomly pop up actiive so it's never the same sequence.

I think that above would give a lot of options to the map maker with one mode that has modifiers.
Also these stations must be active under water so if nescessary players can swim to them - you can't use weapons under water so would be interesting to some, and vehicles or certain ones should be able to capture a point if you are driving them and park over the domination point.

Maybe also look at a modifier so that the first player into the domination point wins then you have a race mode and whoever gets there 1st would be the victor - unsure how this would work for both Teams and Solo PvP play though.

Lastly a modifier for DM and TDM so if we select the modifier when building the maps the map than saves so it will play that way - So players do not respawn, this would then give us Last Man Standing for both DM and TDM - even better if the dead players can watch / cycle through the living players viewpoints until there is a victor.

If you do decide to do CTF then also allow us to place just one flag in the map as a modifier so we can then have a proper Attack and Defend scenario and whatever it is we pick up say a flag / or something else allow us to throw this like a grenade to other players who might be above or below and let them pick it up (auto collect when walking up to it and auto attach if it lands close enough when thrown)

I have to say Homeopathics are great but massively unused due to been hidden behind a menu, If these could be placed as power-ups in maps and when youi walk into them you get the benefits that would inject so much more fun especially if they could respawn on a timer like weapons.

Still hoping we eventually get Jump / Launch Pads and Teleporters for MP also.

This really needs to arrive sooner rather than later. TDM is getting really boring.

My top 3 modes that I'd like to see would be:
    1) Conquest
    2) CTF
    3) Race (made a thread about this suggestion...lots of potential for it!)

They should all be pretty easy for a map creator to set up as well.

Love the ideas in this thread and wholeheartedly agree.

Would really love to hear about some sauce Ubi has in store for us after the DLCs...

I would love to see more game modes added to the arcade such as predator mode and the like along with extended functionality of the editor.

Only issue is is that it looks like this sort of thing won't be a reality anytime soon.

At the most I hope that arcade eventually evolves into its own platform, so Ubi would have to work on it more then.

Now that would be something special if it could detach away from Far Cry itself and get DLC Packs from other Ubisoft games.

If Arcade was free to play they would have to generate revenue so plenty more weapon skins, costumes etc - that alone wouldn't do it though.
LittleBigPlanet charged for Editor packs so if there was a way to allow everyone to play all maps made but those wanting to make things with new DLC Editor packs they maybe have to purchase them at a small cost that would generate some incoming coin.

I just hope Arcade is still around for years to come.

    [...].
I honestly think it would be a good plan, that way Ubisoft can take the time to turn Arcade into its own project, which would allow them to address the short-comings and other issues prevalent in the game and editor. I think the gameplay is already great so that can stick around.

Things like exposing more properties in the editor (NPCs could just have a 'weapons' and 'skin' property instead of having to choose a specific type, that way behavior could be determined by the weapon and maybe some other properties, such as setting them as 'chosen' or some-odd), allowing triggers and all that jazz, as well as allowing vehicles to respawn and such.

That along with a big array of gametypes such as racing, predator, CTF, etc. etc. could go a long way in making Arcade a far more rounded experience. I would stick with it like I've stuck with TF2 for many years.

Well they took forever to mention no respawning vehicles for FAR CRY 5. They mentioned that last week or so. So now even if we got conquest. Still would have to be smaller maps. Medium to large with no respawning vehicles would have to be like a rooftop kinda map where ya zipline around or wingsuit in.

Also larger maps of 6vs6 takes to long to find the enemy. UBISOFT needs a new game engine for the franchise and next generation console most likely before our wish list is completed to where we wanted it after FAR CRY 2 of 8vs8 and repsawning vehicles and server browser.

Yeah we got the browser now. But 6vs6 is lame and no respawning vehicles. Even if we got domination/conquest and made a tiny COD fish bowl map where its a meat grinder. It be broken map with 7 second timer respawn shield.
