Could someone explain how the spawn system works in Survival, cause I don't get it. I que in solo, normally I spawn in. I come out of the safehouse and pending on the amount of players playing that server, usually see 3 other players. Go to the local chopper crash and I will see the rest. So we spawn right on top of each other and fight for loot. This weekend, I saw 24 players in each run and the majority of the time this was the case and most of those players were already grouped up. Which I don't get. Why is it solo players are being thrust into a team event? Nothing more aggravating, then playing solo against a team. Yet, worst then that I had on 2 occasions where I spawned in played for a couple minutes, wondering where the competition is, cause they didn't spawn at my safe house. To find about 5 minutes, players start dying to see, that they are all in the same spot when I was half way across the map. Then pending on your server and players you face, some players hit the DZ at an alarming rate.I experienced where players have reached the DZ by the time I reached a 3rd safehouse on the way to the DZ. When I tried do this I could actually make it to the DZ, but had no time to loot along the way, worst yet was in no way geared up to face anyone by the time I got there.
So questions I have, does Survival just throw everyone into one server whether a solo player or a team? In a full server, does the game spawn everybody on top of each other, except for 1 or 2 and puts them on the outer edage so they have a better chance at Survival cause the loot is easier to get without competition? Per server run, does all players load in at the same time? I experienced where players have reached the DZ by the time I reached a my 2nd safehouse on the way to the DZ.
That has been my experience, but I was told at one time that each instance pended on what you joined as. Solo with solo players, teams of 2 with teams of 2 and so forth, but for sometime I keep seeming to be playing with teams. In PvE and PvP.Originally Posted by Zimbo78 Go to original post
As mentioned before, the matchmaking puts solo players and teams together in PVE. In PVP, it tends to seperate. The problem is that there are hardly any players left in PVP Survival. I noticed that, after a long waiting time in the queue for a solo round, I have to play against teams sometimes. I think the matchmaking mixes solo and team players, if the waiting time is too long.
PvE and PvP both, I have came in solo and had to compete against teams. It isn't easy, in either.Originally Posted by rosch15 Go to original post
Edit: Now I should include that I don't always play against teams. I have also been told that some players will spawn, step outside and join the 1st few players outside and attack the last.
Strange. Haven't played PVE for a while. I like survival very much, but the matchmaking sucks. You have to wait 15 mins in the queue and then there are 3 players in the game. Mostly, I am alone in PVP after 10 min without having to kill anybody. The cold or NPCs do the job for me. It is a pity that so few players play this DLC anymore.
I have a little experience playing survival, I finished all the commendations and most times extract with a gear score of 163.
If your playing pvp and come across everyone on the server I bet that's fun. Anyway.
From my experience, everyone starts from the general area, maybe the closest three safe houses in an area, bottom left or right etc.
Not everyone will rush to the closest crash site, some will, others will branch off.
I prefer to go solo and if I do team up, I will go one way, everyone else will go other ways, then we will meet back up in the dz. If a team sticks together, they end up with a lot less loot between everyone.
Don't worry about being first to get to the dz. Some people rush, then they are under geared and the hunter gets them. Plus, the points for being first, second etc to extract is only in the 100, 200 etc points, not worth it. It's better to go by your timer than to be the first to try to extract.
Loot. There's a lot of loot all over if you know where to look. When I first started survival, I went to the nearest crash site, everyone trying to be the first to get the loot, lots of agents getting downed by npc or frozen, not really worth it. You can find loot on the streets, in buildings, on roofs, under ground.
When I'm ready to enter the dz, I would have already seen a message that one or more agents have already entered the dz. When I enter there's times the loot at the entrance would still be there so yeah, agents enter at different places so there's loot still around for others.
In the dz it's possible to sneak around and not shoot any npcs and get geared up to extract.
A couple tips I have.
When the video starts for survival, on pc, ( not sure what button it is in console ) quickly press and hold the F button, you'll greatly cut down on the time it takes you to get looting, in other words, you'll be one of the first to get out the door.
If your having a hard time finding loot, drink water and soda, you'll be shocked to see all the stuff your missing.
There's some landmark type places that don't show on the map, you'll need to shoot a few npcs / purples but lots of good loot.
At the beginning, craft a green extended mag or two. Second, craft a pulse, will save you from all the bombs around and you won't run into the mobs and get shot down.
Then craft a turret, if you get into a jam, toss it, the npc will focus on the turret and you can shoot them or run to safety.
If you didn't get a gun other than the pistol then craft one. I like the G36.
Then craft the support station to use when shooting the hunter.
After I'm able to craft the support station, I'm close to the dz and ready to climb the wall.
Make sure you pick up a medkit, then craft an extended med pouch and fill it. You go down without any medkits and it's over. If you have a medkit you can revive yourself if you go down.
If you see me in survival say hi. I have no problem helping if someone goes down or needs help extracting.
Hope this help you a little.
