    Penalty After A DC? Seriously?

So is this an actual thing now? My ping is never higher than 60, usually at more like 30 and ever since the update I can only play maybe 6 out of 10 matches to the end....

Then to my amazement tonight, even though I’m trying my best to stick with this broken POS, I get DC’d, lose my xp boost AND catch a matching penalty? Wow this is some next level ******ation going on here, keep it up and even the die hard players will finally jump this sinking ship.

They would have had worse issues if they didn't add this and plenty of players were getting vocal over it.

People have gotten quitting without triggering the penalty as it was down to a fine art, they've been doing it in casual duel for ages even after the quit penalty was done away with, so of course some people got the idea hey I can get a high rank if I do this (while also, by the by, denying their opponent their rank increase for the win), so they have had to implement a penalty that triggers if the match is not finished for any reason.

They said yeah they're going to get false positives and they don't want that, but what they can less afford is for the game to be rigged by the people willing to use exploits they have been using since before ranked to preserve their K/D.

tldr blame exploit abusers for forcing the devs to put in the measures that triggered your penalty

As above, seen it in that many games where people yank the cable out the back when losing, classic example was the original blackops with players on 350+ winstreaks doing this...

The other reason its justified is if someone with ping constantly fluctuating from 50-300 gets dropped, do you want them joining your next game? If nets unstable then at least people will think twice before jumping in

And before asking devs to do so the answer is no. They cannot detect if the game crashed or was forcefully, or if your disconnect was not your fault.
