Thats wierd. Its working for me with that same build. 🤔 Did you restart uplay? I think i did that as a just in case.Originally Posted by Ellberto Go to original post
Yeah, i did restart uplay. It downloaded 32Mb update also. But still not letting me play Wildlands. This is issue that Ubisoft and Microsoft had to deal with. But im glad you got it working.
Maybe that solution helps someone else too.
Hopefully it does. Now i am going to install ubuntu to try see what steam games i have playable on there. Kinda sick of windows all the time 🤣Originally Posted by Ellberto Go to original post
This thread should be labeled as a "Known Issue" for users in the insider ring, and clearly an excellent example of an issue that is replicable.
Seems like an issue with EasyAntiCheat.
Logs show it was loaded and unloaded at time of launch.
I'll see if I can investigate more.
Update: Seems like this is a known issue with games running EasyAntiCheat example; https://support.greybox.com/hc/en-us...Detected-error
If you would like, you can crate a support ticket and report this to EAC. EasyAntiCheat reporting is here: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/tcgrw/contact/tech/
This is solid example of a "false positive" and should be labeled as one in your report.
Example:
[BUG] Launching Ghost Recon Wildlands results in a error on launch through EasyAntiCheat "forbidden windows kernel modification detected"
This event is replicable. This is a "false positive" in window 10 windows insider build xxxxx (whatever insider build you are running)
EasyAntiCheat; "Our approach is constantly evolving, which results in fewer hacking attempts, no false positives, and a healthier, more enjoyable community"

Has anyone tried with uplay in offline mode? Lame asf but i never tried that lolOriginally Posted by Telendrith Go to original post
Yup, no luck. It's an issue with EAC. EAC starts a service in parallel with a game, this service canot* be run manually :/ however BECAUSE it uses windows service manager, you could theoretically run it on a separate PC/VM that's running Windows 10 non insider build. I'd be interested if that would work just for kicks.Originally Posted by mizz3r0 Go to original post
That is true. I could test this theory...buuut i am far too tired lately to bother putting too much effort into things.Originally Posted by Telendrith Go to original post
I have this issue on my desktop, but not my laptop.
Both are on the same insider build (18272)
THIS IS HYPOTHETICAL until someone can test this is working.
I don't have access to my insider ring PC at the moment, however after some go-fu, I discovered a possible launcher option
-eac_launcher
Please update me if this will ACTUALLY disable EAC.
To add this launcher option through Uplay, right-click it -> click "View game details -> select "Properties" from the menu -> click "Add launch arguments" -> input -eac_launcher into the field; if you have the Steam version, right-click it -> click "Properties" -> click "Set launch options" -> input -eac_launcher into the field. Alternatively, if you're running either version via a desktop shortcut, you can achieve the same result by righting-click it -> clicking "Properties" and -> adding -eac_launcher to end of the target field, separating the two with a space.
Note: Disabling EAC will also likely completely disable the the multiplayer component.
Good luck minions!
I tried this method with my Uplay version of the game. I did not get the Windows Kernel error this time, instead the game begins to load but then i get error message telling me "Easy Anti-Cheat not found." So yeah, it seems that this disables the Anti-Cheat, but without it, the game wont run either. Tried also this with Uplay in offline mode.Originally Posted by Telendrith Go to original post
