My guess is that this was a functional launcher option when PVP wasn't a focus for @Ubisoft - Since PVP has gained momentum for this game my guess is that they don't want to disable EAC for offline so players can mod the single-player game and then carry those over to multiplayer matches. @Ellberto sorry my theory it didn't work.

I have found a fix. but you will have to wait. as I have returned to fast updates, I decided against clicking the check for update button. reason behind his is that when windows update downloads anything, it is pushed to your computer. whereas by clicking check for updates, it pulls any available update past your current build.
this includes any buggy updates...or at least very buggy. I have yet to find any other issue so far, as all games have loaded no issue.
and....I ONLY just realized this was in the wildlands thread....I thought I was in FC 5 thread...but it should be the same.

Okay, quick update. I've got it working. No idea how, but when i launched the game it actually works, no error messages, no nothing. I dont know if Uplays update fixed this or Windows update, anyhow, the game works now. I have ticked the Uplay setting box where you can have "beta" versions of it and i'm currently running Windows Pro Insider Preview 1809, build is 18272.1000. I'm gonna test this more later on tonight and see if it is actually working properly, but now it seems to work!
