Still having same issue on latest technical preview, been forced to dual boot windows 7 just to play this is ridiculous how can you charge 30 for some dlc and not even fix ongoing issues affecting many users , then say just rollback your update to fix...last time I let ubisoft screw me over. Sell the game to another company who actually cares about customers
This kernel error has been around for months on and off with various Ubisoft games and Easy Anti Cheat. Surely by now they and Microsoft could have worked out how to permanently fix this. The most annoying thing is that I DO NOT NEED Anti Cheat to play in single player mode.
Andi.
….and of course first attempt to play again, I get this issue LOL build 18267.rs_prerelease.181020-1908
currently doing an sfc scan, and then will try a few other fixes prior to rollback attempt
will let you know If I figure it out...but I won't hold my breath![]()
I've well and truly paid for a game that i cannot play. All because i have a windows insider preview build. Is there an actual fix for this yet because I wont buy another Ubisoft game again if its not fixed soon. The whole launching of the game has been a joke since day 1. Paid for the Gold Edition too. First it was the .exe's that had an issue even though I actually downloaded them with the game. Managed to work out a lame arse workaround for that. NOW THIS. Like seriously WTF!!!
It would be ok if the anti cheat crap actually worked on the actual HACKERS not on legitimate users or on copies of actual WINDOWS. All you companies suck when it comes to this. Spend the money program a decent anti cheat or program one like they do, yes thats right and sell it in a subscritption just like the hack sites do but its an an actual anti-hack, so that when they are hacking we can activate it when we feel like it, like they do and their little hacks don't work anymore. They be holding their little aimbot button down and they be like "OMG its not locking on I want a refund" and "How come I can see everyone but not that other dude through the walls". We be like haha bait again.
If you didn't let the whole problem get way out of hand to start with we wouldn't have these problems. I respect the fact that you are trying but maybe it not working. COZ I CANT PLAY THE GAME AT ALL.
I found no fix with a few debugging and system scans. but in Ubisoft I did find the option to test their updates. so maybe the fix to it is to be previewer of both windows and Ubisoft? I have changed my previews from fast to slow. and am waiting on preview 18267.1001 to download. if that doesn't work, I will try the Ubisoft testing.. but it is dumb. I can understand the anti-cheat for online play. but how would it benefit for single player. sometimes companies need to think.
I have just up dated my game with the current up date patch, only to have the same message with error code 20006 start server failed: 1058?!!!. and some rubbish about Anti Cheat go online for a solution, the lick is crap and no help. My system is Windows 10 fully up to date, and like every one else I am not rolling anything back, Nvidia 416.34.
Clearly the problem is with you, I notice from going through the pervious you are guilty by your silence on the matter. May I suggest that your corporation get you finger out and solve the issue ASAP, you have my money and your product has failed. Any company who cares about their customer base would have had this problem resolved months ago. Moreover, a collective statement would have been nice explaining what is being done and a time frame given if you cant resolve the issue when a refund will kick in.
Response ASAP please you customers are listening and watching. Over to you.
Has anyone been able to fix this without rolling back their W10 install?
I got mine working by switching from fast preview to slow. But i also added the...i guess beta?...for uplay.
It seems that with the insider previews. Not all files are processed in 100% condition for anti-cheat systems. Causing the program to read into the kernal. And seeing they are edited to a later date.
Its kinda like a win vista notebook i sorted. A single minor issue, date was set to 2005, so all secure websites did not load. As all security certificates were stamped for 2018...
I tried to put the fast preview to slow and it downloaded the Windows 18267.1001 build and i also changed the Uplay settings for accepting the "beta" versions of it. But no luck, still getting the same error telling me "Forbidden Windows kernel modification detected"![]()
Oh well, i guess i'll go back to play RDR2 then.
