- Fullblock stance is now too similar to nobushi's hidden stance and can be used to counter all kinds of bashes and mix ups with even granting the possibility to get a good punish out of that. I am not sure if this is intended but it this makes her extremely strong right now at in 1v1 scenarios. I did not encounter many people so far who are using it that way but since there are videos of that out there I guess everybody will quickly catch up on that.
Overall so far is the Valk fun to play against. Always engaging and providing holes you can use to fight back and turn things in your favor.
- I feel however that the guaranteed 35 damage on the heavy after sweep is a bit too much. Should be reduced to 30. You need to take into account that the hits beforehand also account for something. She should stay mixup intensive and get a lot of different hits in, but none should stick out like that 35 dmg heavy.
Personally I think the damage should stay as it is now - As it stands currently, anyone in mid-high level can dodge the sweep with ease, be it on prediction or even reaction, the move is too slow to justify a lower damage punish; especially when dodging it nets you a free gb (even when out of stam). I see the sweep as a 'very very high risk, highish reward move' and should either definitely be increased to 500ms and or delayable to catch out dodges, due to the fact that mapping sweep to gb messes up most of her gb mixups et. Again, personal opinion and might be wrong, but the general consensus is that the sweep is terrible and could really do with a buff as well as the other things I mentioned in my postOriginally Posted by Klingentaenz3r Go to original post
The new Valk is absolutely annoying to play against. She is now what the old Warden used to be and what Conquer currently is, which is a shield bash spamming lunatic.
She can feint her shield bash way too late into her heavies and it makes the idea of parrying her unlikable due the unknown of if it's a heavy that will be canceled or a light.
She's lost her defensive style and just became another bash spamming hero that is hard to punish because unless you have a good dodge attack she can just keep swinging.
I really enjoyed losing with the old Valk as compared to winning with the new one.
I would not made a huge post as some but Valk is my Co main with Kensei and here is what i think :
1/ really happy with new speed and dmg overall .
Just some has to understand only side finisher and second/third top lights has been speed up.
2/ Her new mix up is really really Nice ! In my opinion she has like two 50/50 now : sweep/GB and SB/GB.
These two things are balancing some weaknesses she still has.
Find below some suggestions and questions:
1/ Zone: why did you work the mix up on the second hit of her zone while letting the first hit the same ? This is a waste of time as it is still unefficient and very risky to use for an access To the same mix up than with heavies. ..
2/ Parry punishes : she has among the weakier of the game because of her low dmg (even after the buff).
Why then did you remove the headbutt dispite of finding an utility for it there ?
For example it could have been a headbutt used as Warlord or Cent post parry, dont you think ?
3/ Superior block : the moove has been buff but explain me how and when use it ? Because the timing is faaaarrr too tight to be used . Even the deflect is far easier to perform. Why dont you change that ?
4/ Shield tackle : you absolutly destroyed the moove. Give the old one back please.
Without the take down effect why not i understand it was too much. But at least with the dash possibilities and block property after released please. This is a dead moove currently.
5/ Ally sweep : please, this kind of moove should be a strengh in 4v4 and this is now a weaknesses.
Raider, LB, Cent, Shugo and many others char has mooves where team mates can also hit your opponent during it.
Why Valk couldnt ?
6/ Side light finisher : the wallsplat timing allow only an additional light after that currently. Was it the intention ? Or should it allow a heavy ?
To recap, in terms of correction, you should remoove the ally sweep.
In terms of reworked mooves, you should put back old shield tackle without the take down effect.
In terms of deleted mooves, you should find a use for the headbutt to improve her poor parry punishes.
In terms of useless mooves, you should work on the superior block timing and on a new zone ! I have always suggested a zone like Aramusha one for her.
Remember that valk is with PK and Nobu among the only 3 Char to has no unblocables and no HA at all.
Roman said you gonna keep looking at valk and maybe adjust some things. It is mean you know some points need still to work on.
Thanks To consider this Ubi![]()
I did forget a couple of things.
Possible options:
Give her a gauranteed second light (ie Warden, Nobushi, Orochi) to get into sweep and third side light faster. With the second light speed only being increased on top, it becomes a bit predictable and I think misses its intended mark.
Add options to Shoulder Pin. The move is great, but follow up could be better. I mentioned adding a throw in my previous post like Gladiator has after a skewer. You could put a good head butt here though too. Would be a good animation to get them off your spear instead of just weakly pulling it out and leaving your opponent right in front of you for an unguaranteed follow up attack. Could also add a stun effect. This could be done on the wall and use the push option for the open, or use it in both situations. Maybe use a shield hit to stun/push to the side.
An unblockable other than the sweep or shield tackle/crush that can be cancelled. She needs something to force a reaction to help open the opponent for her mix ups.

Yeah! I really like the idea of the stamina draining headbutt in parrys but... parries are not difficult to do and besides, if you do a parry the enemy loses and important amount of stamina so... why not a little stun headbutt? Similar to Shugoki's heabutt but only on parries and without pushing you back! I think this would be great.Originally Posted by Tonka47 Go to original post
