Well, the new update just dropped. Some interesting new stuff in there such as a search function for items on consoles. Also new environmental effects under the new label of 'Audio and Visuals'.
I'm curious to know what the expected uses for the invisible blocks and walls would be? I'd have liked the compliment of them - walk-through walls and objects, but maybe next time?
I'm sad to see no new weapons have been added to the loadout screen. I was expecting the Luger, the Dessert Eagle and especially the AR-L. Against that, they have added the AR-C Super variant with a suppressor that can be added as a found weapon (or at least I think is was just added as I haven't noticed it before). And the SA-50 and Spas12 also gets a Super suppressed version. Though oddly, the Vector only gets a variation with a Reflex sight, not a suppressor, and the 44 mag handgun gets a scope variation.
And finally the anomaly of being able to add fire arrows to find, but not explosive ones is still with us, sadly.
So, not a bad update, but there's still more to do, Mr Ubisoft.
I'm noticing a glitch in the FC Multiplayer Arcade is still present: when I click the Options button during gameplay to access the arcade menu, I'm often sent right back into the game as if I'd never pressed the Options button. I might need to access the menu to change my look sensitivity, video settings, etc, and the glitch often will send me right back into the game before I can change them. Of course this is taking into account that I'll be sent back into the game automatically if I'm killed and whatnot; however this happens all the time regardless--even when the game is just starting, for instance. Some attention to this issue would be appreciated!
Are we talking about the main game, or playing one of your own maps in the Editor 'Play' option, or simply playing someone else's map in Arcade - or all of the above?
Ah, re-reading it I see you mention multiplayer. Does this not happen in Solo play, then? As I never play Multiplayer maybe that's why I've never experienced it?
And just to clarify - you're saying that hitting the option button takes you to the options menu, but within a second or two it takes you back to play again without you hitting the back button? And is this on a console or a PC? And if a PC presumably it's being played with a gamepad rather than the keyboard and mouse?
Yeah you're right, I'm on a PC using a PS4 controller - should've specified that. I'm not sure whether it extends to consoles but it does seem that other people are experiencing the same issue. It's only in multiplayer mode that I ever get this glitch - no problem at all with pausing the game (i.e., "pressing the option button") in solo mode.
Other glitches I've noticed in multiplayer mode that seem on the surface to all have the same root cause - data caching issues: 1.) I threw bait once during a game to see if a wild animal would attack my opponents (there indeed was a bear that appeared - however it couldn't enter the playable area of the map as it was cordoned off by a fence on all sides in this particular map). Many maps later I'll get repeated pop-ups that say "No animals seem to be interested in the bait" as if I'd just thrown it during this game rather than 10 maps ago. (On second thought this definitely wasn't just a one-time glitch, because I've definitely accidentally thrown bait during PVP when I pressed the throwables button and assumed I had a grenade or dynamite when I in fact only had bait.)
Similarly, 2.) If a map editor made a modification to start out their map with "Ultimate Hunter" mode auto turned on for everyone, the ultimate hunter icon with a depleted meter will continue to appear for many maps afterward. Probably these things occur until the host server finally changes although that's just my theory.
And 3.) Although the usual thing to happen when someone performs a Takedown on you is the camera switches to third person showing you getting taken down by the enemy, there is often a glitch where instead of this appearing, the camera pans to the enemy who had killed me *prior to* the one currently performing the takedown on me. It's kind of hard to explain but I'm sure other people who play PVP will know exactly what I'm talking about because it happens SO often.
Sorry, didn't mean to make this a crying booth to air my grievances, I just wanted to have an opportunity to explain them and maybe a developer will see this post and make the appropriate changes. Or maybe there's a better sub-forum to post this in, not really sure - very new to the site![]()
